Position Summary

Verità Telecommunications is seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Support Specialist / Junior Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team. Reporting directly to the IT Director, this role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build or advance a career in Information Technology.

The successful candidate will support daily IT operations across the organization, including user administration, technical support, workstation deployment, Active Directory management, Power BI reporting, business system maintenance, and infrastructure support. This position offers exposure to enterprise-level technologies and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in systems administration, networking, virtualization, automation, and business applications.

Key ResponsibilitiesUser Account Administration
  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across company systems.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts, security groups, and permissions.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Assist users with password resets, account access requests, and authentication issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of account changes and system access.
Technical Support
  • Provide first-level and escalated technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot workstation, laptop, printer, and peripheral device problems.
  • Install, configure, and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices.
  • Respond promptly to support requests while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Document support activities, resolutions, and recurring issues.
Workstation & Device Management
  • Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Maintain inventory records for company hardware and technology assets.

Systems Administration
  • Assist in administering Windows Server environments, including versions 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print Services, and file-sharing environments.
  • Assist with server maintenance, updates, backups, and restoration activities.
  • Support Veeam backup systems and data recovery processes.
  • Help maintain server availability and operational reliability.
Network & Infrastructure Support
  • Provide support for networking equipment, including switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Assist with VLAN configuration, VPN connectivity, and routing functions.
  • Support office-to-office and remote access VPN connections.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
Virtualization & Storage
  • Assist with VMware vCenter and ESXi host administration.
  • Support virtual machine deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Help administer network-attached storage (NAS) systems.
  • Manage file permissions and shared storage resources.
Reporting & Business Systems
  • Support Power BI reporting by maintaining dashboards, validating data, and implementing minor report enhancements.
  • Assist with SiteTracker administration and business application support.
  • Participate in software implementation projects and business system upgrades.
  • Help ensure data integrity across enterprise systems.
Automation, Monitoring & Process Improvement
  • Support IT monitoring and remote management tools.
  • Assist in creating PowerShell scripts and workflow automations.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and user guides.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in special projects and technology initiatives as assigned.
  • Travel occasionally to support office infrastructure deployments and expansions.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical systems when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior IT support, internship, customer service, or technical experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and user account management.
  • Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and VLANs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in Plymouth, Michigan.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
