Job description

Role

We are looking for an AI-Forward Senior Technical Trainer to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA role, reporting to the AMS Delivery Leader in the Zscaler Cyber Academy (Product) department. A Senior Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced educational programs that empower customers, partners, and internal teams to master complex technologies. In this role, you will not only teach cutting-edge cloud security concepts but also pioneer the use of Artificial Intelligence to scale our learning initiatives. By combining a deep technical understanding of AI integrations within our products with the application of AI tools in curriculum development, this role directly drives product adoption, enhances user success, and accelerates organizational growth.

What you'll do (Role Expectations)

  • Conduct engaging, high-level technical training sessions (ILT, VILT, and hands-on workshops) that integrate AI-driven use cases, helping learners understand how machine learning and automation fit into modern security architectures

  • Leverage Generative AI (GenAI) and advanced prompting frameworks to design, develop, and continuously update comprehensive training materials, lab exercises, and certification exams at unprecedented speeds, ensuring they reflect the latest product features

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to mentor and onboard junior trainers, specifically upskilling the team on AI-assisted instructional design, content generation, and modern delivery standards

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and Support teams to translate complex technical specifications-including neural networks, AI engines, and machine learning models-into easily digestible learning content

  • Measure and analyze training effectiveness by utilizing AI-powered analytics and predictive learning models to evaluate student feedback, identify knowledge gaps, and dynamically optimize the curriculum

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.

  • You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

  • You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.

  • You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback-knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.

  • You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain

  • 5+ years of experience in technical training, enablement, sales engineering, or technical support, with a strong background in AI/ML applications, SaaS, cloud computing, or cybersecurity

  • Demonstrated track record of independently delivering highly technical instructor-led training to diverse audiences, particularly involving AI-driven products or automated security solutions

  • Hands-on experience designing and building technical courseware, utilizing AI tooling to scale presentation decks, student guides, and interactive, hands-on lab environments

  • Strong foundational knowledge of enterprise technologies (AI frameworks, ML lifecycles, cloud architectures) combined with exceptional communication skills to translate dense engineering concepts to stakeholders

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience designing adaptive AI-driven learning pathways, prompt orchestration systems, or multi-agent frameworks to personalize technical curriculum delivery and assessment

  • Established credibility and deep domain expertise at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing, with proficiency in using AI coding assistants to automate virtual lab environments

  • Experience building high-end asynchronous learning content natively with AI-generation tools, including synthetic voice/video production, automated grading, and adaptive gamification elements
