PDPT 60300 MSK II: Spine Examination and Rehabilitation
Course Coordinator: Mike Costello
Purpose of the Job:
Assist in Musculoskeletal II: Spine Examination & Rehabilitation labs, demonstrate techniques, answer student questions, participate in practical exams, and independently supervise one open lab per week.
Requirements/Qualifications:
DPT III student with a passion for the management of spinal conditions and clinical reasoning who received a B+ or better in MSK II: Spine Examination and Rehabilitation and in good academic standing. The student should be highly motivated, professional, and possess exceptional verbal communication skills. Students will serve in one lab session and independently supervise one open lab session per week
Course Needs:
Start Date: Fall 2026 semester: 8/24/2026- 12/10/2029

PTBS 50300 Soft Tissue Examination & Intervention - Lab Assistant

Requirements/Qualifications:
Graduate students with a passion for manual therapy who received a B+ or better in the soft tissue and peripheral joint mobilization courses. Students should be highly motivated, professional, and possess exceptional verbal communication skills.
Purpose of the Job:
Assist in soft tissue labs, demonstrate techniques, answer student questions, participate in oral/practical exams, and independently supervise one open lab per week (TUE, WED, THU, or SUN)

Purpose of the Job: Independently supervise one Musculoskeletal I: Peripheral Extremity Examination & Evaluation open lab per week. Responsibilities may include demonstrating techniques and answering student questions. Other job duties include independent participation in and grading of scanning exam checkouts and SOAP note documentation.
Requirements/Qualifications: DPT II or III student with a passion for the examination and evaluation of musculoskeletal peripheral extremity conditions and clinical reasoning who received a B+ or better in MSK I: Peripheral Extremity Evaluation and Examination and in good academic standing. The student should be highly motivated, professional, and possess exceptional verbal communication skills.
Course Needs:
Start Date: Fall 2026 semester: 8/24/2026- 12/10/2026
2 teaching assistants (4 total) for each open lab section:

PDPT 60200 Neuroscience
Course Coordinator: Eber Beck
Purpose of the Job:
Teaching Assistants (TAs) will assist course coordinator with teaching course content, especially in neuroanatomy labs. Tasks may include: 1) participating in small group discussion and/or anatomy demonstration during labs, 2) independently supervising open labs (frequency and scheduling to be determined), 3) cleaning and maintaining lab space, lab tools, and neuroanatomic specimens and models, 4) assisting with setting up, proctoring, and grading lab practical exams, 5) helping with supplementary lab modules (Anatomage table, virtual reality, 3D printing, etc.), and 6) helping grade written assignments, as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
DPT III student with interest in neuroscience, in good academic standing, who shows effective verbal communication skills, punctuality, proactivity and initiative, self-motivation, and strong interest in helping students learn about neuroscience and neuroanatomy.
Dates: Fall 2026 semester (8/24/2026 - 12/10/2029)
Course Needs:
At least two teaching assistants (TAs) in each lab section, which can be split between 2-6 students (for example: 2 TAs for all 3 sections [10:00-11:50 AM and 1:00-4:50 PM], or 6 TAs total, 2 for each section).
Section times
- Wednesdays, 10:00-11:50 AM
- Wednesdays, 1:00-2:50 PM
- Wednesdays, 3:00-4:50 PM
Working hours will fluctuate between 0 to 4 hours per week depending on multiple factors (e.g., need for TAs in some labs, open lab demand [busier days before practical exams], practical exam weeks [time for pinning, proctoring and grading], etc.). In general, TAs will work 3hr/week (instructional lab time + open lab AND/OR other tasks). Open lab times to be determined. Course coordinator reserves the right to choose how to split workload between 2 to 6 TAs.
Pediatric Rehab
Course Coordinator: Kimber Kurr
Start Date: Fall semester but heavier responsibilities in the middle to end of the semester. Most of the work has flexible timing. Labs are on Mondays but prep work can be done Friday or over the weekend.
Purpose of the job: Assist with coordinating and transporting pediatric equipment from OT department and vendor prior to pediatric equipment lab. Assist in setup and cleanup of off campus experience at Racker. Occasional other lab setup or printing of documents. Hold open labs the last 4 weeks of the semester.
Requirements/Qualifications: Student in good academic standing, any cohort
Course Needs:
-Assistance prior to pediatric equipment lab with transporting equipment to/from vender's vehicle to lab storage room and from OT department.
-Assist with setup and cleanup of equipment at Racker
-Assist with other lab setup and printing of documents
-Run open labs around available times for DPT III students, 2x/week for 2 hours last 4 weeks of the semester.
PTBS 504 Applied Biomechanics:
Course Coordinator: Karen Lomond
Purpose of the Job:
Assist in Biomechanics labs, demonstrate techniques, answer student questions, help with spec based grading/attendance tracking participate in lab check off if needed, and independently supervise one open lab per week.
Requirements/Qualifications:
DPT II or III student with a passion for the management of spinal conditions and clinical reasoning who received a B+ or better in Applied Biomechanics and in good academic standing. The student should be highly motivated, professional, and possess exceptional verbal communication skills. Students will serve in one lab session and independently supervise one open lab session per week
Course Needs:
Start Date: Fall 2026 semester: 8/24/2026- 12/10/2029
1 lab assistant for each of the following sections (3 total):
Tues section 02 3:00-4:50
Tues section 03 1:00-2:50

PDPT 60100: Wellness & Prevention

Position Overview:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) will support student learning and engagement in the Wellness & Prevention course, with a focus on health promotion and lifestyle medicine principles. The TA will work collaboratively with course instructors to facilitate skill development, support course activities, and enhance student success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support student learning related to the pillars of health promotion and lifestyle medicine

  • Assist course instructors with planning and implementation of community health screening events (e.g., coordination, student preparation, and on-site support, as feasible)

  • Assist with grading and providing feedback on course assessments

  • Facilitate periodic open lab sessions to support student practice of course-related skills, including preparation for community health screenings and competency assessments

Time Commitment:
Approximately 2 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester. Schedule will vary based on the time of the semester. Most work will occur outside scheduled class time.
Pre-Requisites: Received a B+ or better in Wellness and Prevention.
PDPT 60500: Neuromuscular Foundations
Course Coordinator: Angela Reynolds
Position Overview:
The Teaching Assistant (TA) will support student learning and engagement in the Neuromuscular Foundations course, with a focus on foundational neuroscience concepts, clinical reasoning, and application to patient care. The TA will work collaboratively with course instructors to enhance learning experiences, facilitate skill development, and support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with development and refinement of course content, including learning materials and lab activities

  • Support students learning neuromuscular concepts and their clinical application

  • Facilitate periodic open lab sessions to support student practice of lab and lecture content

  • Provide guidance to students preparing for practical exams and competency-based assessments

  • Attend lab sections intermittently to assist with instruction, provide feedback, and support student performance

  • Assist with grading and providing feedback on course assessments, as needed

Time Commitment:
Approximately 2-3 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester. Schedule will vary based on course needs, with most work occurring outside scheduled class time.
Pre-Requisites:
Received a B+ or better in Neuromuscular Foundations.
