Job description

Junior System Administrator

Micro-Tronics is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, including hardware, networks, and cloud-based systems. This role will provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure reliable day-to-day IT operations across the organization.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career looking to grow their experience in systems administration, networking, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-user support through a ticketing system, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Diagnose root causes, implement solutions, and document resolutions clearly
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as needed
  • Maintain and support desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and other IT equipment
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft 365, Azure, and other SaaS/cloud platforms
  • Support Windows Server environments, user accounts, and system access
  • Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software
  • Monitor systems to ensure updates, patches, and security measures are in place
  • Perform inventory tracking of IT assets and equipment
  • Assist with disaster recovery processes including backups for virtual machines, files, email, and cloud systems
  • Provide basic training and guidance to end users when needed
Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of IT support or system administration experience
  • Experience with Windows environments and basic network administration
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi/network troubleshooting
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 and/or Azure
  • VMware experience is a plus

Education & Certifications (Preferred):

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • At least one relevant certification, such as:
    • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
    • Microsoft certifications
    • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
