Job description

Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Healthcare SaaS

Treatspace / PracticeBeat

Location: Pittsburgh, PA – In Office

Department: Sales

Employment Type: Full-Time

About PracticeBeat

PracticeBeat, part of Treatspace, Inc., is a healthcare technology platform helping independent medical practices and physician groups improve how they attract, engage, and connect patients with care.

Our platform gives medical practices access to powerful patient acquisition and practice growth tools, including high-performance websites, search optimization, online scheduling, reputation management, patient engagement, and analytics.

Treatspace is a Pittsburgh-based healthcare technology company focused on solving real problems for physicians, medical practices, and patients. We’re building a sales organization that can scale alongside that mission.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing sales team in Pittsburgh.

This is an in-office, outbound sales role built for someone who is competitive, coachable, resilient, and wants to build a career in SaaS sales.

Your primary responsibility is straightforward: start conversations with medical practices and create qualified sales opportunities for our Account Executives.

You’ll spend a significant part of your day on the phone making cold calls, speaking with practice owners, physicians, administrators, and other decision-makers across the country.

You don’t need to know everything about healthcare or software on day one — we’ll teach you the product, industry, messaging, and sales process. What we can’t teach is drive. We’re looking for someone who enjoys competing, isn’t afraid of the phone, responds well to coaching, and wants an opportunity to grow into a closing sales role.

What You'll DoCore Outbound Sales Activities
  • Make high-volume outbound cold calls to medical practices across the United States
  • Connect with physicians, practice owners, administrators, and other healthcare decision-makers
  • Generate interest in PracticeBeat and schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives
  • Learn how to navigate gatekeepers, handle objections, and create conversations from cold outreach
  • Follow up with prospects through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels
  • Consistently achieve monthly meeting and activity goals
Pipeline & CRM Management
  • Maintain accurate prospect and activity information within our CRM
  • Work closely with Account Executives to improve meeting quality and pipeline conversion
Coaching & Skill Development
  • Participate in call reviews, role-playing, coaching, and ongoing sales training
  • Learn the fundamentals of SaaS selling, discovery, qualification, pipeline management, and closing
What We're Looking ForExperience & Background
  • Previous sales, business development, customer-facing, recruiting, hospitality, athletics, fundraising, or other competitive experience can be helpful, but isn’t required
  • Most importantly, you need to be willing to pick up the phone
Core Competencies
  • Confident – You’re comfortable starting conversations with people you’ve never met
  • Curious – You ask good questions and want to understand why people buy
  • Coachable – You want feedback and actually put it into practice
  • Accountable – You take ownership of your results
Personal Qualities & Mindset
  • Competitive – You like having a number to hit and knowing where you stand
  • Resilient – Hearing “no” doesn’t ruin your day
  • Driven – You want your performance to directly impact your income and career growth
  • Energetic – You bring a positive attitude and contribute to the team around you
Success Metrics & Expectations

Successful SDRs at PracticeBeat consistently:

  • Maintain strong daily outbound activity
  • Create quality conversations with medical practices
  • Hit or exceed qualified meeting goals
  • Learn from calls and improve week over week
  • Take coaching seriously
  • Understand the problems our customers face
  • Build the skills necessary to eventually own and close opportunities themselves

This is a performance-driven sales environment. Results matter, and strong performance creates opportunities for additional responsibility, compensation, and career advancement.

Career Development & GrowthProfessional Growth Path

We view Sales Development as a starting point for building great salespeople — not a destination. High-performing SDRs will have the opportunity to develop toward Account Executive and closing sales roles as they demonstrate consistent performance and mastery of the sales process.

Skills You'll Build

You’ll receive hands-on coaching and exposure to the full SaaS sales cycle, including:

  • Prospecting
  • Discovery
  • Qualification
  • Objection handling
  • Pro
