Job description

Summary
Conducts synchronous online classes using Schoology and Zoom to facilitate learning in a virtual setting that combines direct teacher instruction and computer-based lessons and activities; maintains office hours to support English Learner (EL) students each day; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session. Class schedule will be in the morning or evening, depending on student enrollment.
Qualifications
Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in English as a Second Language, PreK-12, with experience teaching EL students at the secondary level and the ability to differentiate instruction to support students in a virtual environment. Online teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
