Job description

Virtual Physician- Cardiology

The Virtual Cardiologist provides remote, patient-centered cardiovascular care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of heart-related conditions. This role evaluates moderately complex to complex clinical scenarios and applies clinical expertise to deliver high-quality care in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver virtual consultations to assess, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular conditions
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical evidence
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., ECGs, echocardiograms, lab work)
  • Prescribe medications and recommend therapies in alignment with current clinical guidelines
  • Provide follow-up care and monitor patient outcomes through virtual platforms

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Florida
  • Board Certification in Cardiology
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in cardiology practice
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms
  • Knowledge of evidence-based cardiovascular care guidelines

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Daily patient volume averages 4–6 scheduled visits, allowing for meaningful patient interaction
  • Extended appointment times (approximately 45 minutes per visit)
  • Responsibilities include a combination of virtual patient visits, eConsults, and referrals from primary care providers
  • Focus on direct patient care, with administrative tasks limited to those related to patient management

Additional Requirements

  • Must meet all state licensure requirements for practicing physicians
  • This is a patient-facing role and participation in the TB (tuberculosis) screening program is required upon hire
