Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Provides 1-on-1 and group career coaching to assist business undergraduate students in the process of career exploration, decision making, and in securing experience (internships, externships, and full-time employment), through both on campus and off campus recruitment.
  • Develops and delivers programming content in person, via social media, and through other virtual tools as needed to meet the demands of the Kelley School Undergraduate Career Services (UCS).
  • Supports required career education classes.
  • Contributes to all aspects of student services for the UCS including professional and promotional events for the Kelley School as well as other cross campus career related experiences.
  • Coaches and mentors junior professionals and peer career coaches on our team.
  • May lead small teams of students.
  • Takes on training and initiatives, as needed, to prepare undergraduates for the ever-changing employment environment.
General Responsibilities
  • Assists with professional and career development of students and alumni through career assessments, exploration, decision-making, goal setting, and planning. Focuses efforts on resume building, interview skill development, mock interview, and job search preparation and navigation; graduate school application and interview preparation through counseling appointments and consultations.
  • Develops and delivers workshops on career development which include networking strategies, interviewing, resume and cover letter writing skills, portfolio development, and using the internet for career search.
  • Supports faculty and students with career exploration, internships, job shadow experiences, presentations, and facilitation of resources available for career development.
  • Serves on various community and institutional committees to build partnerships across the university and among comparable universities to build knowledge base.
  • Assists in the process of collecting and tracking data for office assessment purposes. Utilizes data to assist in the creation of office objectives and goals to meet the needs of the student population.
  • Works through issues with a variety of stakeholders: students, employers, alumni, and faculty. Identifies and capitalizes on connections between groups of stakeholders and leverage those connections in unique ways through events and interactions.
  • May provide guidance and delegate administrative tasks to other career services staff.
  • May make process recommendations for improved operational efficiency.

EDUCATION
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.

Working Conditions / Demands
