Position Summary

Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for server operating systems, enterprise class software and virtual environment. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Researches new systems and solutions, initiates proof of concepts, and provides IT Management recommendations from findings. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to all IT. Works closely with Business Analysts to provide technical guidance throughout SDLC process. Mentors junior level staff through transfer of technical skillsets when applicable.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below represent the primary duties of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Day-to-day administration of the virtual datacenter to include the performance of virtual machines, implementations, updates, and tuning of software and systems. Manages server class operating systems and software, virtual host hardware, database systems, and virtual environment. Develops new datacenter systems and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure systems reliability.
  • Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired. Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for re-establishing servers, databases, and operating systems. Perform and analyze disaster simulations for the prompt restoration of services.
  • Responsible for documenting and maintaining product deployment, upgrades, and Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity procedures.
  • Perform level three troubleshooting of workstations and other peripherals. Utilize management tools to deploy, monitor and debug desktop applications through-out the enterprise.
  • Follow internal change management methodology by adhering to documentation and production change control processes when implementing product enhancements and maintenance to ensure a stable production environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of working within IT systems administration. Knowledge and experience of enterprise class software and hardware in a virtual environment to include administration of VMWare suite of products and host hardware. Working knowledge of network, security, and DR/BC best practices.
  • Experience with deployments and configuration of virtual machines within vCenter server, Microsoft Server OS, SQL database administration, Microsoft Operations Manager, Exchange, and Citrix.
  • A college degree and current industry standard certifications. Preferred certifications are CASP, CCA-V MCSE and VCP6-DCV.
