This position is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, validation, and support of advanced electronic circuits and systems encompassing digital, analog, and RF technologies. The role requires applying sound electrical engineering principles to the creation of reliable, high-performance hardware solutions that operate in demanding real-world environments. Responsibilities span the full product lifecycle, including concept development, schematic design, prototyping, laboratory testing, system integration, and production readiness.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a continuous desire to learn and expand technical expertise. Success in this role requires the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design, firmware, software, manufacturing, and operations. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality are essential, particularly when balancing aggressive development schedules with rigorous performance and reliability requirements.
The products supported by this role include specialized in-car camera systems for professional motorsports such as NASCAR and IndyCar, compact microwave transmission platforms, and advanced video processing and distribution equipment. These custom-engineered solutions are integral to the company's competitive differentiation within the broadcast and motorsports technology markets. As a result, maintaining high standards for initial product quality, reliability, and time-to-market is critical to both customer satisfaction and overall business success.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Troubleshoot prototype and production PCBs as needed, utilizing lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Circuit simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout using SPICE, Altium, and other tools
  • Generation and maintenance of all Engineering drawings including Schematic, PCB assembly, BOM, Programming Instructions, etc. on a project-by-project basis
  • Design, configure, and maintain IP-based media networks for remote video production, including utilization of private 5G networks and SMPTE 2110 standards
  • Work with manufacturing, RF, comms, and camera shops to ensure successful builds of new equipment and long-term reliability of hardware
  • Design tasks may include any of the following:
    • Digital, analog, power supply, or RF circuit boards
    • FPGA design and maintenance
    • DSP programming
    • Embedded C programming • Perform new product design, product improvements, and test • Prepare concept sketches, layouts, and specification documents. • Prepare basic analysis, test, performance, and schedule information. • Prepare and report on progress, feasibility, and concept studies
  • Travel as Neccessary

Job Requirements:
Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering

Experience Required:
  • College coursework in: digital design, digital communications, digital signal processing, EM theory
  • 1-10 years of experience related to electrical engineering design

Experience Preferred:
  • Prior internship(s) or work experience related to electrical engineering design in simiar industry

Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing demand
