Job description

Built on service. Powered by people.

Impact exists because a small group of industry leaders believed companies in our space were doing it wrong. Many prioritized margins while the people doing the work and the clients relying on it became an afterthought. Impact was built differently: invest in great people, trust them to do great work, and deliver the kind of service clients remember. That approach helped us grow from a small office technology company into a national managed services provider, while remaining privately owned and people-first.

What makes Impact special is that growth has never come at the expense of the values that got us here. We continue to reinvest in our people, our capabilities, and the opportunities ahead so employees can grow alongside the business. We’ve built something special, but we’re far from finished. The people who join Impact now will help define what comes next.

Job Overview

The Sr. Cloud Solutions Engineer designs, implements, and supports scalable, secure cloud solutions aligned to established enterprise standards and architectural direction. This role blends hands-on technical design with the deployment, management, and optimization of Microsoft Azure workloads, including migration and modernization efforts. Success in this role means translating business and technical requirements into practical cloud solutions, staying current with cloud technology trends, and collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams to deliver outstanding service for clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Azure-based cloud solutions for customer and internal environments under established architectural standards.

  • Translate business and technical requirements into practical cloud architectures.

  • Deploy, sustain, and resolve issues in secure and effective IaaS and PaaS solutions centered on Microsoft cloud technology.

  • Implement identity services, cloud-based desktop environments, virtual machines, storage solutions, and associated services within Microsoft Azure.

  • Establish baseline configurations for Azure workloads to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices across client environments.

  • Support modernization and migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, and execution.

  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions and participate in peer review of IaC modules for security, compliance, and operational consistency.

  • Implement monitoring, diagnostics, governance controls, and policy enforcement within cloud solutions.

  • Collaborate with engineers, operations teams, and stakeholders to align cloud solutions with business needs.

  • Provide architectural input, technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge sharing for projects and operational improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud architecture, or enterprise IT roles.

  • Strong experience designing, deploying, and supporting solutions on Microsoft Azure.

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure migrations and transferring technical workloads within client environments.

  • Working knowledge of Azure security, networking, identity services, and Identity and Access Management.

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.

  • Experience with hybrid infrastructures, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, Entra ID Domain Services, Azure Files, Azure Backup, and Azure networking services.

  • Proficiency with scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Python; experience with Power Automate is a plus.

  • Required or in progress: AZ-305, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

  • Preferred certifications include AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-700, or SC-300.

  • Preferred experience with AKS, Docker, Nerdio Manager for MSP, Azure SQL, and/or Web App Services.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate.
