Save More Marketplace in Minocqua is seeking an energetic, hands-on Customer Service Manager to lead our Front End, strengthen the guest experience, and own the recruiting process for our entire store.

This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, well-run shopping environment. The Customer Service Manager will lead and develop the Front End team, respond to customer needs, maintain strong service standards, and ensure customers receive friendly, efficient service during every visit. This individual will also oversee storewide recruiting, helping each department attract, select, and onboard dependable employees.

The ideal candidate is a visible and approachable leader who enjoys working with people, developing employees, solving problems, and creating a positive experience for both customers and team members.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer and Front-End Leadership
  • Lead the daily operation of the Front End and customer-service areas
  • Create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient experience for every customer
  • Set clear service expectations and coach employees to consistently meet them
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence at the Front End and throughout the store
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and service issues professionally
  • Monitor checkout flow and adjust staffing based on customer traffic and business needs
  • Supervise, train, schedule, coach, and develop Front End employees
  • Coordinate breaks, call-in coverage, and daily Front End assignments
  • Oversee cash-handling procedures, register accountability, refunds, and other Front End controls
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly staffed checkout and customer-service areas
  • Recognize strong employee performance and address service or performance concerns promptly
  • Support opening, closing, and Manager-on-Duty responsibilities as scheduled
  • Assist with customer incidents, staffing challenges, and other immediate store needs
Storewide Recruiting and Onboarding
  • Own and manage the recruiting process for all store departments
  • Partner with department managers to identify staffing needs and prioritize open positions
  • Create and maintain job postings across appropriate recruiting platforms
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings
  • Coordinate and participate in interviews with department managers
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Help evaluate candidates and ensure hiring decisions meet the needs and standards of the store
  • Coordinate job offers, pre-employment requirements, hiring documentation, and onboarding
  • Ensure new employees receive an organized and welcoming introduction to Save More
  • Track open positions, candidate progress, and hiring results
  • Develop recruiting strategies that create a dependable pipeline of qualified applicants
  • Promote Save More as a positive place to work within the local community
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of management or supervisory experience in a corporate or chain grocery retail environment is required; three or more years is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading employees and delivering a strong customer experience
  • Experience with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, or onboarding employees is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, candidates, employees, and department leaders
  • Ability to provide clear direction, coach employees, and hold the team accountable
  • Sound judgment and the ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to service and operational standards
  • Comfortable using scheduling, hiring, and other workplace technology
Schedule Requirements

This position requires open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business. Candidates must be able to work a flexible management schedule and provide leadership during different days and times throughout the week.

Physical Requirements

This position requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent movement throughout the store, and the ability to occasionally lift or move merchandise and supplies.
