Job description

GARNEY

A Superintendent position is available at Garney. As a Superintendent, you will be making a difference every day by helping Garney build work. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and construction knowledge at Garney. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Lead daily self-perform yard piping operations on water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Supervise crews installing underground and above-ground process piping, utility piping, and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and schedules to maintain production goals.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, inspectors, and other trades to resolve field issues.
  • Mentor and develop field crews while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Negotiate and purchase materials
  • Maintain as-built documents
  • Act as owner and architect/engineer contact
  • Verify and provide inventory analysis
  • Survey construction job site
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience
  • 5+ years of underground utility, process piping, or heavy civil construction experience with leadership experience as a Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Experience leading self-perform yard piping or underground utility crews.
  • Water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, utility layouts, and project schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with willingness to travel as needed.
