ABOUT THE ROLE
The Engineering Manager (EPC) oversees programs of engineering and procurement for electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects from bid to closeout. This role manages engineering delivery through third-party engineering consultants, who serve as the Engineer of Record, coordinates design reviews, supports procurement and construction, and ensures completion of final as-built documentation.

MYRE serves customers participating in a nationwide engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery. We work on a wide range of projects and EPC contracting services, including large transmission and substation projects, complete solar facilities, and energy storage.
ABOUT YOU
Essential Functions
  • Develop and prepare proposals for EPC electrical substation, transmission, and distribution projects
  • Define and establish project scope for alignment with client and third party consultants
  • Manage and coordinate detailed design activities with engineering subcontractors and oversee related deliverables throughout the design lifecycle from bidding to as-builts
  • Coordinate project procurement activities with engineering subcontractors and the Procurement Manager, including bidding, specifications, and contracting
  • Work with material vendors to expedite procurement information and deliverables, or delegate these tasks to the Procurement Manager as needed
  • Define and prepare the project's engineering standards, specifications, and procurement requirements
  • Plan and coordinate daily engineering subcontractor and procurement activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager
  • Support negotiations with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and follow the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, along with any applicable industry-specific professional and ethical standards

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7+ years of design, engineering, or project management experience related to electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects
  • Experience managing project teams or consultants preferred
  • Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) preferred
  • Construction related experience or EPC project experience preferred

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong technical competency in substation, transmission, and distribution design including the ability to interpret engineering deliverables and client specifications to support design coordination, constructability, and procurement activities.
  • Ability to manage client programs
  • Strong collaboration skills with project teams, emphasizing practical, solution-oriented decision-making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong commercial awareness, including scope development, risk identification, change management, and client relationship management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills

Salary $103,549/$174,999 year
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
