Job description

Responsibilities
Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary
The Case Manager advocates for the patient's access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact. The Case Manager participates in treatment team meetings and continued stay reviews as indicated.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical information to managed care companies, insurance companies and other third party reviewers to establish the length of stay or number of certified days.
  • Conducts reviews and other communications and documentation as required by payor standards to obtain necessary certification to maximize reimbursement, and are the liaison for both internal and external reviewers.
  • Provides timely updates regarding patient status on log sheets that are prepared for daily meetings concerning admissions, reviews, and discharges.
  • Coordinates discharge plans with family, guardians, and other appropriate service providers.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of case management/inpatient psychiatric experience or comparable experience. Demonstrated proficiency in psychiatric care required.
  • CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work (Can be obtained upon hire).
