Civil – Staff Engineering Technician (Federal)

Pay: $45.52/hr

Onsite, 5 days/week | Local Candidates Only

Locations: Overland Park, KS • Atlanta, GA • Dallas, TX • Denver, CO

Green Card Required

Position Overview

The Staff Engineering Technician supports civil‑site design for mission‑critical federal projects within Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) at COMPANY. Work includes producing and modifying civil engineering drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D and other digital design tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical deliverables including drawings, models, and documentation.

  • Apply civil design standards and ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Perform Civil 3D tasks such as grading, surfaces, and plan/profile development.

  • Review design inputs and support quality assurance processes.

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to exchange project information.

  • Provide technical guidance and review work from other technicians as needed.

  • Support field activities when required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant civil engineering technician experience.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and CAD/BIM workflows.

  • Ability to interpret design inputs, perform calculations, and produce accurate quantities.

  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation and standards.

Education

  • Diploma or Certificate required

  • Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred

Additional Requirements

  • US Citizen required

  • Green Card required

  • Must complete standard pre‑employment screening
