A Virtual Camera Operator works closely with directors, cinematographers, animators, and visual effects teams to achieve the desired visual storytelling. They often participate in pre-visualization meetings to understand the creative vision and use specialized software to simulate camera movements within a digital environment. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as the operator must integrate feedback from multiple departments to ensure the virtual shots align with both artistic goals and technical requirements. This collaborative process is key to creating seamless and dynamic sequences in modern film and animation projects.

What is a virtual camera?

A virtual camera is a software-based camera that simulates the functionality of a physical webcam, allowing users to broadcast video, images, or screen content from their computer as if it were a live camera feed. This technology is commonly used in video conferencing, streaming, and content creation to enhance visual presentations or add effects. Virtual cameras can also integrate with other software to display overlays, backgrounds, or pre-recorded content. They are popular tools for remote work, online teaching, and live streaming due to their flexibility and versatility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a virtual camera operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Virtual Camera Operator, you need a solid background in cinematography principles, camera movement, and digital video production, often supported by relevant education or experience in film, animation, or game design. Proficiency with 3D animation software (such as Unreal Engine or Maya), motion capture technology, and virtual production tools is typically required. Strong collaboration, creativity, and communication skills help operators effectively translate directors’ visions in virtual environments. These skills are essential for creating visually compelling virtual scenes that align with creative objectives and technical requirements.

Step into the spotlight and launch a new kind of sales experience. As a Virtual Sales Expert, you'll play the lead role in real-time on-camera interactions with our customers. From sales pitches to expert product recommendations, you'll take center stage as you use various methods (live video, telephone and chat) to sell products and services, conduct demos and provide a premier sales experience to online shoppers.
In this role, you'll report to an AT&T location where you'll provide unique and exceptional customer experience. In addition to demonstrating an expert knowledge of our products and services, you'll access and maintain records in appropriate point of sale systems and handle a variety of sales-related tasks including customer contracts and warranties, processing credit applications, completing orders from multiple fulfillment options and activating service. What will it take to succeed? Positivity, professionalism and most of all, ease and comfort with on-camera exchanges. These skills, combined with a competitive mindset to meet and exceed sales goals, will ensure that each customer interaction becomes a successful sales opportunity.
You'll also be required to:
• Consistently display a positive, professional, friendly and high energy willingness to assist customers through video, chat or telephone interactions.
• Possess a competitive spirit and desire to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Continually maintain working knowledge of all company products, services and promotions.
• Make recommendations according to customer's needs.
• Utilize operational systems to process purchases of all products and services.
• Multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
• Educate and engage customers through product demonstrations over video software.
• Interact with and sell to customers via video, chat or telephone interactions and provide prompt and courteous customer service to all customers.
• Ensure adherence to channel-specific methods, procedures and clean-desk policies.
• Adhere to all appearance standards, which include a dress code.
We prefer that you have:
• 1-3 years of retail, customer-facing and/or call center sales experience.
We also require that you meet the following physical requirements:
• Ability to sit or stand for long durations (e.g., 8 hours) and engage with customers as dictated by needs of the business.
Our Virtual Sales Experts earn between $15.40 and $20.62 per hour starting + $1,450 monthly in commissions if all sales goals are met. With our uncapped commission opportunities, overachieving those goals earn top sellers $60,300 per year.
Joining our team comes with amazing perks and benefits:
• Medical/Dental/Vision coverage
• 401(k) plan
• Tuition reimbursement program
• Paid Time off and holidays (With some exceptions bargained employees qualify for one week of PTO after 6 months of service and 2 weeks after the first year). At least 6 company designated holidays and additional PTO (based on bargaining group to which you are hired).
• Sick leave
• Paid Parental Leave
• Adoption Reimbursement
• Disability Benefits (short term and long term)
• Life and Accidental Death Insurance
• Supplemental benefit programs: critical illness, accident hospital indemnity/group legal
• Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
• Employee discounts up to 50% off on eligible AT&T mobility plans and accessories, AT&T internet (and fiber where available) and AT&T phone
