Job Duties:
The Administrative Assistant provides front-line administrative and operational support to the School of Design & Communication and the Department of Music within the College of Fine Arts & Communication. This role serves as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors while coordinating scheduling, events, communications, and equipment checkout. The position supports two dynamic academic units and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • Tracks, stocks, orders, and inventories office supplies to ensure adequate materials are available for workplace operation
  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations

Department:
This is a unique position housed within the College of Fine Arts & Communication as a shared position between the School of Design & Communication and the Department of Music. A successful candidate for this position will be able to prioritize and manage a variety of administrative functions to support the staff, faculty, and students of the two different units.
Compensation:
The Administrative Assistant is a .875 FTE, Typically 40 hours per week during the school year, 20 hours per week during the summer .
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting hourly wage of $18.28/hour commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
