The RN I Admission/Discharge

  • As a part of the healthcare team, assumes primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized for patients of all ages. Utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborated approach to patient care. Assists in facilitation of the admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care in order optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to service area.
  • Determines and preforms within clinical, leadership and/or education pathways to support (direct/indirect) quality patient care service and performance improvement through anticipating and effetely functioning in crisis/emergency situations based on sound judgment, escalation, and use of advanced skills.
  • Manages resources, establishes prioritizes, and modifies environment to meet patient care needs.
  • Collaborates with case management and social work to facilitate throughput.
  • Assists in the coordinates the admission, transfer, and discharge process across disciplines and service lines.
  • Actively contributes to the overall positive patient experience through the use of excellent customer service skills.
  • Utilizes bed tracking technology and collaborates with leadership and transfer center to facilitate throughput.
What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.


Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required.


Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.


Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP and ACLS required.


Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Ability to role model professional behavior and apply problem-solving skills effectively. Basic computer and phone system proficiency required.
