Must-Have:

  • Active RN License in hand for Auto Offer
  • Ability to complete state RN license application within 48 hours of signing

Description:

The role involves providing care in a stepdown unit from ICU. The unit serves a wide variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines. For every patient, there is one bedside RN, a virtual RN, and one CNA. Bedside RN to patient ratio is 1:4 and CNA to patient ratio is 1:6. The virtual nurse works remotely to assist with admission, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds. Approximately 30% of the patient population is cardiac in nature, including CHF, MI, and arrhythmia patients. Respiratory patients include those with COVID, flu, COPD, and asthma exacerbations. The unit also accommodates neuro and renal patients along with complicated medical-surgical cases. Skills required include the ability to manage high flow nasal cannula, BIPAP, and various acute care procedures. Travelers may float to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical units as needed. Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend, based on staffing needs. Candidates must have the ability to work with a virtual nursing model. All time-off requests will be approved on an individual basis.
