What is a virtual account representative?

Virtual Account Representatives are professionals who manage customer accounts and support sales operations remotely, typically via phone, email, or online platforms. They build relationships with clients, address inquiries, resolve issues, and help drive sales growth without meeting clients in person. This role often involves using CRM software, coordinating with other teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Virtual Account Representatives are crucial for businesses looking to maintain strong client connections in a digital environment.

These skills ensure effective client relationships, efficient remote communication, and the achievement of sales and retention goals in a virtual environment.

  • Identify under-penetrated product categories and develop strategies to grow year-over-year revenue and gross profit.
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity metrics, activity goals, and key performance indicators.

What you bring to the table:

  • Motivation to build customer relationships that create measurable value and growth.
  • Clear, confident communication with customers and internal partners across calls, follow-up, and solution-focused conversations.
  • Curiosity and strong listening skills to understand customer needs, ask thoughtful questions, and uncover opportunities.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to connect customer needs to relevant products, programs, or solutions.
  • Comfort making outbound calls, engaging customers, and continuing forward after rejection or setbacks.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through when balancing customer conversations, priorities, and activity goals.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn quickly as customer needs, business priorities, or sales approaches change.
  • A customer-first approach focused on creating a positive, helpful, and professional experience in every interaction.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share ideas, apply feedback, and learn from managers, peers, and business partners.
  • Composure and critical thinking when prioritizing next steps, solving customer challenges, and supporting sales goals.

  • Experience conducting outbound calls or virtual sales conversations.
