Job Overview

Employment Status: Full time Shift: Day (United States of America). Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE - Roanoke. Requisition Number: R155980.

NUCLEAR MED TECHNOLOGIST (CRMH) – day/evening (4 10's) (Open). How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare: Up to $30,000 new hire sign on bonus and up to $7,000 in relocation assistance is available.

HOURS: 4-10's 10:00-20:30 with flex earlier by a couple of hours with notice. Weekends off with one day during the week off. Weekday off may rotate with notice.

Responsibilities
  • The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
  • Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results.
  • Administers diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures, correlating patient history with the test to be performed.
  • May assist with scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing for patients.
  • Evaluates, prepares and observes patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.
  • Interacts with staff, patients, physicians, families, family members/visitors, management, ancillary departments and general public.
  • Interacts with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
  • Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to age and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
  • Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
  • Enhances personal and professional growth through participating in educational opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by NMTCB or ARRT. AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
  • Must apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
  • Must have knowledge of radiopharmacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains Nuclear Medicine certification.
  • Obtains required CEUs per certification board.
