Job description

Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 depending on experience + Production Incentives

Position Summary

The Window Production Manager oversees all manufacturing activities within the Window Plant. This role directly supervises Department Leads with a strong emphasis on leadership development, mentoring, coaching, and training. The position supports operational objectives, plant programs, and company policies while ensuring the production of high-quality vinyl windows products in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner possible.

The ideal candidate is a master window builder who’s proficient in all areas of vinyl window manufacturing. Candidate must be available for 1st Shift operations, willing to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, based on production demands, peak periods, or new product launches.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and support initiatives that promote total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Train and develop employees on safe work practices, machine operation, maintenance procedures, and department-specific safety standards.
  • Conduct regular plant safety inspections and maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee involvement and enforcing accountability when necessary.
  • Support and maintain Acadian Windows quality standards through process improvements, employee training, and quality-focused initiatives.
  • Communicate audit and inspection findings while implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and administer orientation and leadership training programs for Department Managers, focusing on:
    • Personnel policies
    • Coaching and counseling skills
    • Continuous improvement initiatives
    • Leadership development
  • Promote strong teamwork and communication between departments and shifts.
  • Facilitate employee engagement, performance management, and recognition programs that support continuous improvement.
  • Support plant initiatives related to:
    • Customer Satisfaction
    • Quality Improvement
    • Cost Reduction
    • Waste Reduction
    • Material Yield Optimization
    • Customer Service
  • Identify opportunities to maximize material utilization and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Drive manufacturing cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and operational integrity.
  • Partner with Plant Managers and Continuous Improvement teams to implement lean manufacturing and process improvement projects.
  • Support Department Manager hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and development planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manages 6–12 Department Leads and Supervisors overseeing approximately 20–40 manufacturing employees.
  • Responsible for overall leadership, coordination, performance management, and employee development within the plant.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Interviewing and hiring
    • Training and coaching
    • Performance evaluations
    • Work assignment and scheduling
    • Employee recognition and disciplinary action
    • Conflict resolution and problem-solving

  • Previous manufacturing leadership experience required
