Job description

At Mountain West Vinyl Products, our CDL Drivers play a critical role in keeping our operations moving and our customers supplied. As a key member of our team and a representative of our company on the road, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting and delivering products while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, safety, and customer service. This is a hands-on role that also supports our day-to-day yard operations, including loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts, staging products, and keeping the yard organized and running efficiently.

We’re looking for a dependable, safety-focused individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of getting the right products to our customers safely and on schedule. The ideal candidate has a strong driving record, a professional attitude, excellent driving and material-handling skills, and the ability to safely operate commercial vehicles, forklifts, and related equipment while maintaining compliance with all applicable DOT, FMCSA, and company requirements.

CDL Driver Position Skills:

  • Safely operate company commercial vehicles and forklifts to load, unload, move, stage, and deliver materials in accordance with DOT, FMCSA, state, and company requirements.
  • Load, secure, transport, unload, and organize materials throughout the yard, warehouse, and delivery areas.
  • Verify loads, quantities, delivery tickets, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
  • Perform required pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections and promptly report vehicle or equipment defects, damage, maintenance needs, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate DVIRs, driving logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with general yard operations, including staging orders, organizing materials, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and supporting daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and DOT & FMCSA Compliance Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon meeting all applicable federal, state, and company requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers, including:

  • Active Class A CDL in good standing with all endorsements required for the position
  • Successfully completing required pre-employment driver qualification and employment-history investigations
  • Providing required information regarding prior employment and driving history
  • Successfully completing required DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Providing required consent for Clearinghouse queries
  • Satisfying FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements, including applicable pre-employment and annual queries
  • Maintaining a status that permits the driver to perform FMCSA-regulated safety-sensitive functions
  • Maintaining required medical certification and meeting applicable physical qualification standards
  • Maintaining a valid CDL and all required endorsements
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements
  • Acceptable driving record and motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Completing all required safety and DOT training
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Flatbed experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety and customer service
