Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sales Manager for Main + Vine plays a key role in driving revenue growth as well as strengthening the commercial performance of an assigned portfolio of hotels. This Lexington based position focuses on cultivating business across key segments, building strategic relationships, and ensuring that each hotel is positioned for long-term success. The role requires a blend of sales expertise, business acumen, and the ability to represent our management company with professionalism and insight including direct interaction with hotel owners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Sales & Portfolio Growth

  • Develop tailored sales strategies for each hotel, aligned with broader commercial objectives and market conditions.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across corporate, group, government, and local negotiated segments.
  • Strengthen production from existing accounts through consistent engagement, thoughtful account planning, and communication.
  • Maintain a balanced focus on short-term wins and long-term account development.

Stakeholder Partnership & Representation

  • Serve as a trusted point of contact providing clear insights into sales performance and opportunities.
  • Represent the management company with professionalism, clarity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborate closely with property leadership teams to ensure alignment on priorities, execution, and guest experience expectations.

Commercial Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with Revenue Managers to ensure sales efforts complement pricing, inventory, and market strategies.
  • Participate in commercial meetings to review performance, pace, and strategic opportunities.
  • Evaluate group and negotiated business for profitability and alignment with each hotel’s commercial goals.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations that balance revenue potential, operational impact, and long-term value.

Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand shifts to anticipate opportunities and risks.
  • Use reporting tools and analytics to understand performance drivers and identify areas for growth.
  • Share insights with leadership and property teams to support informed decision-making.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with travel managers, meeting planners, and local partners through consistent communication and proactive support.
  • Conduct sales calls, presentations, and in-market visits to deepen client engagement.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of activities, opportunities, and account details within CRM systems.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Prepare clear, actionable reports on sales production, pipeline activity, segment performance, and commercial opportunities.
  • Track KPIs such as account growth, group pace, conversion rates, and total revenue contribution.
  • Identify underperforming segments or accounts and develop targeted action plans.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–4 years of hotel sales experience, preferably with multi-property responsibilities and a strong understanding of hotel commercial strategy.
  • Based in Lexington, KY and up to 70% travel.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive measurable results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, brand sales tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with major hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt, Choice, Wyndham, etc).
  • Background in on-site limited-service hotel sales
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or related field.
