Village Capital

TN • Remote

Contractor

Re-posted 10 days ago

Job description

Village Capital is a global leader in impact investing, helping early-stage startups access the type of social and financial capital they need to grow - reshaping the supply and demand sides of capital flows as a result. As our work continues to expand globally, we are looking to build a network of talented professionals (experienced consultants, specialists, and independent contractors) to join our contractor/consultant pool and support fundraising, partnership development, investor engagement, and business development operations.

Scope of Work

We are interested in connecting with professionals who bring expertise in one or more of the areas below and are interested in collaborating with us through flexible engagement models, including project-based assignments, part-time support, retainers, or ongoing partnerships.

Prospecting

  • Conduct targeted prospecting to identify potential partners, funders, and strategic opportunities aligned with Village Capital's priorities across its operating regions.
  • Develop curated prospect lists that include prospect profiles, research-based partnership alignment analysis, relevant areas of interest, recommended engagement targets, and identified points of contact.
  • Cross-reference identified prospects against HubSpot and available internal records to validate information, avoid duplication, and ensure accurate pipeline tracking.
  • Prepare tailored outreach messaging that reflects the prospect's priorities, relationship context, and alignment with Village Capital's programs and impact areas.
  • Support thematic prospecting exercises focused on priority impact areas, including regenerative economics and disability innovation.
  • Maintain prospect list by supporting Village Capital staff with relevant follow ups and progression of opportunities (cold-warm-hot) as relevant.

Concept Note Development

  • In partnership with Village Capital communications team, develop initial drafts of concept notes and related written materials to support partnership cultivation and funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate with relevant program and investment teams to gather inputs, incorporate feedback, refine content, develop case studies, and support the finalization of materials, including edits and design preparation.

Proposal Development

  • Develop draft proposal materials, including narrative sections, budgets, theory of change, KPIs, impact metrics, and other supporting documentation, ensuring alignment with partner requirements and Village Capital program priorities.
  • Coordinate the completion of required due diligence, KYC, and partner compliance documentation to facilitate timely and accurate proposal submissions.

Conference/Event List Reviews

  • Review conference attendance lists to identify potential partners and funders aligned with Village Capital's current priorities, and share with internal teams for review.
  • Scan conferences globally to develop short-list of potential new conferences and events for Village Capital to attend, with the goal of improving business development reach and converting prospects.

Internal Business Development Coordination

  • Review internal or inbound lead submissions to assess alignment with Village Capital priorities by responding to BD-requests and BD-lead workflows on Slack and ensure opportunities are documented and routed appropriately.
  • Support coordination across regional teams by documenting updates, aligning on opportunity progress, and tracking follow-up actions from internal coordination sessions, including drafting agenda for biweekly BD calls.

HubSpot Management

  • Maintain and review HubSpot CRM records to ensure accurate opportunity tracking, updated pipeline stages, and reliable reporting on partnership development activities.
  • Prepare HubSpot reports, data extracts, and reporting snapshots to provide visibility into opportunity updates, pipeline health, and progress toward business development goals.

Engagement Structure

Consultants may be engaged on a project, retainer, hourly, or fixed-fee basis, depending on organizational priorities and business needs. Joining the contractor pool does not guarantee an engagement but provides an opportunity to be considered for future consulting opportunities as they arise.
