Job description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled AV Design Engineer with strong experience designing video wall systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in audiovisual system integration, proficiency with design tools, and a proven ability to engineer complex video wall solutions for commercial, command & control, retail, corporate, or large-format environments. This role collaborates closely with project managers, sales teams, and installation technicians to deliver high-quality, reliable AV solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Design end-to-end AV solutions, with a primary focus on large-format video wall systems, LED walls, LCD arrays, and multi-display configurations.
  • Develop detailed system schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and layout drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
  • Specify all AV components including processors, controllers, displays, signal distribution, network switches, mounts, control systems, cabling, and power requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to interpret client requirements and translate them into technical designs and budgets.
  • Perform system calculations such as pixel density, viewing distance, brightness, aspect ratios, heat loads, and electrical needs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards including AVIXA, NEC, ADA, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers and installation teams to support system commissioning, troubleshooting, and change control during implementation.
  • Review site conditions and conduct on-site assessments as needed to confirm mounting structure, room conditions, and installation feasibility.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Stay up to date on emerging video wall technologies, processors, control systems, and AV networking trends.
