Primary Function

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the productivity of the manufacturing department. This position will direct plant production, development, and quality initiatives through management of equipment, materials, and the workforce.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with other senior leadership to coordinate workflow across all departments to produce quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manages the workflow and coordination of the manufacturing environment, including materials and equipment to meet production, quality, and cost goals.
  • Plans and coordinates department production schedules, production rates and capacity plans, processing methods and times.
  • Plans budgeting and approves expenditures for the required resources for production including equipment, materials, and workforce.
  • Maintains and promotes a safety conscious manufacturing environment.
  • Directs first-line supervisors in their reporting and scheduling activities.
  • Leads communication of corrective action plans, resolutions, and quality results among the department.
  • Analyzes reports and reviews provided by first-line supervisors.
  • Conducts and presents annual performance appraisals for all direct reports.
  • Acts as a mentor among production team members to create a professional and driven workforce.
  • Assists in company/plant planning through department budget preparation, expenditure recommendations, and workforce/space forecasting.
  • Reports issues regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel problems to Director.
  • Performs other activities as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience with significant experience in management and supervision.
  • Master’s Degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in lean production principles and metrics
  • Ability to prepare and interpret various metrics, and reports.
  • Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective measures
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with all levels within the plant.
