Position Overviewย 

The Negotiator, Video Partnerships role at Initiative is responsible for negotiating, placing and maintaining National video buys on behalf of our clients. Negotiators must work collaboratively with other disciplines such as Strategy, Communications Design, and Client Advice and Management. A Negotiator, Video Partnerships will always exhibit a collaborative and fair demeanor with media partners to honor the Initiative culture and service commitments we declare in the marketplace.ย 

Responsibilitiesย 

  • Responsive to client requests including research reports, preparing schedules, buying highlightsย 
  • Assist in preparing deck slides for client buy presentationsย 
  • Train and manage the workloads of Associates, Video Partnerships, and review documents and reports prepared by themย 
  • Assist in Upfront negotiations and execute scatter needsย 
  • Help with the evaluation of media plans of National TV linear as well as alternative video including OTT, cinema, online video, video on demand (VOD)ย 
  • Place, confirm and monitor media holds/orders; Screen content per client buying guidelinesย 
  • Execute smooth day-to-day account activities:Enter buys into MBOX and ensure system reflects accurate buys, update buy summary documents, monitor network buys daily based on audience delivery data to ensure delivery in flightย 
  • Secure necessary Audience Deficiency Unit (ADU) weightย 
  • Pull research reports as needed including Rankers, Dimensions, overnightsย 
  • Negotiate pricing that reflects efficiencies and clients' objectivesย 

Required Skills and Experienceย ย 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsย ย 
  • Solid negotiating skills and experience collaborating with Strategy and Communications Design teamsย 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Wordย 
  • Knowledgeable in media mathย 
  • Proficient with MBox or equivalent Inventory Management systemย 

Desired Skills and Experienceย ย 

  • Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environmentย 
  • 2+ years of Media experience. Preferably as a Partnerships Associateย 
  • Proven problem-solving abilityย 
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilitiesย
