Job description

Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We're a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that's critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department OverviewWithin the Video Security & Access Control (VS&AC) business unit at Motorola Solutions, we are helping solve some of the biggest challenges around safety and physical security by developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and products. Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions brand, designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, and surveillance cameras that help change the way people interact with their security systems.
Job Description

Reporting to the Group Product Manager, AI & Analytics, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution for key AI and analytics initiatives across the Avigilon platform. You'll be part of an empowered product team operating with a start-up mindset inside a large enterprise.

Artificial Intelligence is transforming the physical security landscape, and this role is at the center of that evolution. You will bring a proven track record of having shipped AI/ML products at scale, taking complex models out of research and deploying them into production environments serving high-volume, real-world workloads. In this role, you will turn next-generation AI, from computer vision and object detection to Vision-Language Models (VLMs), generative workflows, and agentic AI, into intuitive, high-value user workflows that make our entire end-to-end product ecosystem shine.

Beyond your own initiative areas, you will help shape how the broader video product team integrates intelligence to solve complex security problems for our customers. You will maintain clear ownership over product vision, discovery, user experience, and technical model trade-offs while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless delivery.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Own Strategic AI Product Area(s): Take full ownership of assigned AI and analytics capabilities within the Avigilon platform. Define the vision for your area, set outcomes, run discovery, and drive the multi-quarter roadmap for high-scale AI capabilities in close partnership with AI research and engineering teams.
  • Bridge AI Research & Technical Scale: Engage deeply with AI Platform Engineering and AI Research teams to evaluate technical trade-offs around model accuracy, inference latency, compute-to-serve costs, infrastructure scaling, and edge vs. cloud deployment. Translate cutting-edge AI capabilities into well-framed problem statements and intuitive operator experiences.
  • Lead Continuous Discovery: Run a rigorous market discovery practice. Conduct customer interviews, observe security workflows in the field, analyze usage data, and synthesize findings to ensure AI capabilities solve real operational pain points rather than serving as "technology-first" novelties.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Platform Alignment: Partner with Video Management Software (VMS), Access Control, Appliances, and Devices Product Management teams to ensure AI features feel like unified platform experiences across the entire ecosystem.
  • Define and Own Scale Metrics: Build the measurement framework for your assigned AI capabilities. Instrument your product to track adoption, field accuracy, inference reliability at scale, engagement, and business impact. Use data to validate hypotheses, refine models, and make the case for future investment.
  • Influence Across the Organization & Field Engagement: Work with Sales, Support, Training, and Product Marketing to ensure successful launches, strong feedback loops, and customer enablement. Create technical value propositions, respond to field inquiries, and help align stakeholders around AI priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of Product Management experience delivering software, cloud, or enterprise solutions, with a demonstrated track record of shipping AI/ML-driven products or capabilities at production scale (e.g., serving thousands of active users, processing high-volume streaming data, or managing large-scale inference workloads).
  • Production AI/ML Depth: Deep understanding of computer vision, deep learning, LLMs/VLMs, and analytics workflows, with the technical fluency to engage meaningfully with AI researchers on model deployment, optimization, latency trade-offs, and cost-to-serve at scale.
  • Empowered Product Thinking: Exceptional critical thinker who is decisive, possesses both technical and business acumen, and has a proven track record of taking complex AI products from research/discovery through to commercial deployment.
  • Continuous Discovery Practice: Experience running customer discovery, conducting field interviews, and translating qualitative and quantitative insights into product strategy and clear requirements.
  • Systems & Scale Thinking: Ability to visualize how edge-to-cloud AI implementations interact at scale, balancing model execution on local hardware versus cloud/on-prem compute costs, bandwidth constraints, and system load.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Exceptional written, verbal, and relationship skills to present product strategy to senior leadership and align cross-functional engineering, hardware, and marketing teams without direct authority.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Large-Scale GenAI or Agentic AI Deployment: Experience launching or scaling products in production that leverage Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), or multi-step AI agents.
  • AI Prototyping: Ability to rapidly stand up AI-generated prototypes to explore possibilities, test hypotheses, and iterate on workflows before engineering build.
  • Security & Computer Vision Domain Knowledge: Prior experience deploying computer vision models or video analytics at scale within physical security, video management systems (VMS), or IoT/hardware environments.
  • Cloud + On-Prem Hybrid Architecture: Experience scaling products that bridge cloud and on-premise deployments, or managing edge-to-cloud model distribution strategies.

Target Base Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000
