Position Summary

We are seeking a Communications Intern to support a full range of internal and employer-brand communications projects, including an intranet launch, social media content, event planning, newsletter content, and video production. This position plays a key role in supporting the Communications team, helping tell the Gifthealth story internally and externally while gaining hands-on experience across a full communications toolkit.


Key Responsibilities

  • Intranet content support: help gather, draft, and refine content for Gifthealth's new company intranet.
  • Intranet page design: assist in designing and laying out intranet pages so they're clear, on-brand, and easy to navigate.
  • Employer brand content: create Instagram content that showcases what it's like to work at Gifthealth.
  • Social campaign strategy: help develop social campaigns spotlighting top open jobs and employee stories.
  • Social analytics: track and report on post performance to inform what the team creates next.
  • Event planning: assist with planning logistics, timelines, and details for the internal holiday celebration.
  • Newsletter content: write and help produce content for the internal newsletter.
  • Video production: shoot and help produce short iPhone videos featuring leaders and employees, for both internal and social sharing.

Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or recent graduate).
  • Licensure/Certification: Not applicable.
  • Experience: No formal work experience required; prior coursework, campus involvement, or projects in writing, social media, or content creation is a plus.
  • Skills:  
    • Strong writer who can shift tone and format across channels, from a quick social caption to a longer newsletter piece.
    • Strategic thinker who connects content back to a goal, whether filling an open role or building culture.
    • Organized, with the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once without dropping the ball.
    • Attention to detail, ensuring work is polished, accurate, and on-brand before it goes out the door.
    • Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video on an iPhone; basic social media analytics familiarity is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Location: Hybrid
  • Schedule: Part-time, temporary internship; standard business hours.
  • May require flexibility around the internal holiday event and video shoot schedules, including occasional early or after-hours support.
  • Regular meetings with the Communications team and leadership to ensure alignment.

Key Essential Functions

  • Must be able to stand, move, and set up/break down materials for extended periods while supporting the internal holiday event
  • Must be able to lift and carry event materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable operating a smartphone camera and basic video/photo equipment for extended shoots.
  • Must be able to work onsite on scheduled hybrid days and for the internal holiday event and video shoots.
