Job description

The Social & Digital Content Production Intern will work closely with with the Social & Digital Content team on digital content distribution, publishing and growth strategy with a focus on Grind City Media. They will support analytics process for social media campaigns and digital content. They will assist with the day-to-day operations for our YouTube channels, Apple Podcast, Spotify and publishing Grind City Media shows. They will also assist in the execution of Grind City Media content on social platforms.


  • Support efforts in loading, publishing and optimization of content to their assigned YouTube channels and day to day operations .
  • Collaborate with producers in uploading, publishing and optimization of podcasts to Spotify, Apple and other podcast platforms through Spreaker.
  • Create clips, including in vertical video format, for promotion of Grind City Media shows.
  • Assist in the production and publishing of content in the Grind City Media mobile app.
  • Work with on-air talent, show producers, marketing and other departments to develop and optimize content, clips, titles, thumbnails, tags, descriptions, cards, playlists, and other content/features across the channels.
  • Work with on-air talent, show producers and other departments to be aware and act on emerging trends within the social video and podcasting sports landscape.
  • Work with the Social and Digital Content Producer to maintain brand voice with high spelling and grammar standards across channels.
  • Assist in distribution and posting of social media content on Grind City Media channels, including game coverage, show, and clips.
  • Assist with fan engagement, YouTube community tab management, comment moderation and livestream activities.
  • Work with Director of Programming and Digital Content to maintain master publishing calendar.
  • Work with the social strategist and analytics team to create regular reports and share channel performance with organization stakeholders.
  • Pay attention and act on emerging trends within the social video and podcasting sports landscape.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years related work experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for sports-oriented media, YouTube and social video space.
  • Experience using YouTube’s Creator Studio.
  • Experience writing social media copy, video titles and descriptions.
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop, especially for creating thumbnails and show promotional graphics.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with high proficiency in English copy.
  • The ability to quickly assimilate new information and learn new skills is critical.
  • Excellent computer skills including MSExcel, MSWord, & MSOffice.
  • Must be focused, extremely detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks and timely completion is critical. 
  • Must be a team player with a strong fan focus.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required.

Nice to Have:

  •  Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
  • Experience interpreting data and sharing analytical conclusions.
  • Knowledge in search engine optimization for content (SEO) for content distribution.
  • Proficient knowledge and us of with Podcast hosting and analytics (Spreaker, Transitor, Captivate, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.)
  • Any experience working with social analytics platforms.
