Job description

The Coeur d'Alene Press is seeking a versatile, curious, and community-focused General Reporter to join our newsroom. This is a hands-on role on a small, fast-paced team where you'll cover everything from breaking news and City Council meetings to features, enterprise stories, and investigative reporting. You'll also contribute to photography, video, and digital storytelling as part of a modern, multi-platform newsroom.
Position Responsibilities
  • Write news, feature, enterprise, and investigative stories
  • Cover local government, community events, and breaking news
  • Attend meetings, press events, and public gatherings
  • Produce multimedia content including photos and video
  • Collaborate with editors and reporters on daily news coverage
  • Engage with the community to build trust and identify story ideas
  • Support both print and digital newsroom production

  • Previous newsroom experience preferred
