We have a relaxed and friendly office located in Carrollton, TX, just outside of Dallas, and are looking for people who are willing to stretch their abilities to make STEM education materials more accessible and impactful to everyone.
About the role
The Social Media & Video Production Intern within the Marketing Department is responsible for assisting in the execution of creative, engaging, and brand-driven digital video content. This position centers on learning how to take product concepts and support the team in turning them into visual stories that drive both web conversions and social media engagement. This collaborative role serves as a link between digital marketing strategy and hands-on content creation, helping to scale the brand's video presence across multiple platforms while receiving active mentorship and professional guidance.
This is an in-office position at our Carrollton, TX office.
Pay Range: $16-$18/hour (full time hours preferred, although willing to work with school schedules for the right candidate.)

What you'll do
  • Video Content & Storytelling Support
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm, script, and storyboard engaging video content across all major channels.
    • Leverage generative AI tools to assist in creative brainstorming, script drafting, topic research, and title optimization.
    • Assist in shooting short-form, viral-style video content optimized for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
    • Help produce long-form product demo videos and practical tutorials intended for website product pages, emails, and YouTube.
  • Post-Production & Editing
    • Assist in editing raw footage into polished digital assets, practicing pacing, audio synchronization, and visual transitions.
    • Utilize Photoshop, Illustrator, or After Effects to design custom YouTube thumbnails, graphic overlays, title cards, and call-to-action visuals.
    • Incorporate appropriate captions, trending audio, and on-screen overlays aligned with branding standards and guidelines.
  • Social Media Coordination
    • Actively monitor social media trends, viral sounds, and platform features to pitch ideas.
    • Assist in drafting social media posts, captions, and hashtags across multiple platforms.
    • Help queue and schedule approved social content using social media management tools.
    • Assist in monitoring community channels and engagement to note audience reception of published posts and videos.
    • Help compile basic performance metrics (views, shares, engagement) and analytics to learn how data shapes content strategy.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • Currently pursuing or a recent graduate with a degree in Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (equivalent hands-on experience and a strong creative portfolio will also be considered).
  • Experience
    • Hands-on experience creating short-form and long-form video content (TikToks, Reels, YouTube) with a strong eye for framing, pacing, and visual storytelling.
    • Prior experience or interest in showcasing physical products, unboxings, or step-by-step video tutorials.
    • Experience participating in creative brainstorms, taking project direction, and incorporating constructive feedback.
    • FIRST Robotics experience is a plus.
  • Technical Skills
    • Experience with video editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut), design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator), and a working knowledge/interest in motion graphics.
    • Familiarity with social scheduling platforms (Buffer, Hootsuite) and generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini) for brainstorming and drafting content.
    • Fundamental knowledge of DSLR cameras, basic lighting/audio setups, and platform formats across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Soft Skills
    • A strong willingness to learn, accept constructive creative feedback, and adapt work to align with brand standards and supervisor guidance.
    • Ability to balance multiple production stages (scripting, shooting, editing, and scheduling) while meeting deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed for writing engaging video scripts, drafting social media captions, and collaborating effectively with team members.
    • Attention to detail regarding brand consistency, spelling/grammar in post copy, and clean visual execution in final video exports.
