BASIC FUNCTION

To assist the Head Football Coach in the video operations of the football program.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborates with the set-up for videotaping of football events for both practices and games
  • Videotapes and edits daily football practice for coaches for breakdown and study purposes
  • Conceptualizes and designs, with input from coaching staff, videotaping plan regarding camera positions and assignments
  • Schedules and manages a crew of student videographers
  • Responsible for the training, scheduling, and directing student workers' day to day task within the football program
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment which includes troubleshooting and maintenance of video
  • Prepares for the transportation of equipment to home and away football games
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with the Department of Athletics, Howard University, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience coaching at the college level, high school level and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Video editing experience in a sports setting preferred
  • An understanding of the rules and policies of the NCAA
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and promote an inclusive environment

SALARY RANGE DISCLOSURE:

$30,000 - $35,000
