POSITION OVERVIEW
The Content Creator, Social Media is responsible for supporting the content strategy and creative execution for Express across social media platforms, with a focus on TikTok, TikTok Shop, Instagram, YouTube, and Livestream Shopping. Reporting to the Art Director, Brand Creative, this role helps bring the brand, product, and customer community to life through engaging, social-first content that supports brand storytelling, customer engagement, and business goals.
This role is responsible for ideating, capturing, editing, and curating social-first video and content for owned and paid social channels, in-app commerce experiences, community storytelling, and broader marketing needs. The Creator, Social Media & Community Content partners closely with Social, Brand Strategy, Creative, Copy, Production, and cross-functional teams to translate campaign direction, product priorities, and emerging trends into compelling platform-specific content.
The ideal candidate is highly creative, culturally aware, and execution-focused, with strong social-first storytelling instincts and hands-on experience creating video content for fast-moving digital platforms. This person should be deeply fluent in social media, passionate about fashion and culture, and able to move quickly while maintaining strong creative judgment and attention to detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Content Strategy & Creative Execution
  • Support the development and execution of social-first content strategies across TikTok, TikTok Shop, Instagram, YouTube, and Livestream Shopping
  • Concept platform-specific storytelling ideas tailored to each social media channel, audience, and customer segment
  • Translate campaign creative, product stories, and seasonal priorities into engaging social-first content and community storytelling
  • Partner with Social, Brand Strategy, Creative, and Copy teams to ideate and execute content that supports brand milestones, product launches, cultural moments, and always-on channel needs
  • Help identify opportunities for reactive, trend-driven, and first-to-market content that keeps the brand relevant and culturally connected
  • Support content needs across organic social, paid media, livestream, and broader marketing initiatives as needed

Content Capture, Editing & Asset Creation
  • Capture social-first video and content at photo shoots, stores, events, studio settings, livestreams, and other day-to-day brand moments
  • Create, edit, and optimize video content for platform-specific use, with a strong focus on short-form mobile-first storytelling
  • Edit and curate community content, creator content, and user-generated content for use across social channels and other customer-facing marketing assets
  • Help create content that supports TikTok Shop and livestream selling moments, balancing brand storytelling with product and commerce objectives
  • Determine when to leverage existing assets versus capture new content based on channel needs, speed, and performance opportunity
  • Maintain organization of the social-first content library, ensuring assets are clearly labeled, accessible, and easy to repurpose across teams

Cross-Functional Partnership & Performance Optimization
  • Partner closely with Social, Brand, Creative, Production, Product, Paid Media, PR, Legal, Studio, and other cross-functional teams to ensure content is aligned with strategy, messaging, and brand standards
  • Support the planning and execution of seasonal campaigns, community storytelling initiatives, creator and influencer content, and always-on social tactics
  • Track creative outputs and review performance metrics to inform future content decisions, creative optimizations, and storytelling approaches
  • Monitor platform trends, editing techniques, emerging content formats, and competitive best practices to continuously evolve the brand's social presence
  • Help develop and maintain best practices for social-first creative, content execution, and platform engagement

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Filmmaking, Visual Communications, Marketing, Fashion, Digital Media, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in social media content creation, filmmaking, video production, or digital creative roles
  • Strong experience capturing and editing social-first video content for mobile and platform-specific environments
  • Proficiency in iPhone video capture and editing
  • Strong understanding of content creation for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok Shop, and related social platforms
  • Strong storytelling instincts and a clear understanding of what performs across social and community-driven channels
  • Experience creating content that is aligned with brand strategy while also responsive to platform behavior and audience expectations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in fashion, retail, beauty, or lifestyle brand environments
  • Experience creating content for paid media, social commerce, TikTok Shop, or livestream shopping
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with CapCut, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar creative tools
  • Basic design, layout, and typography skills for digital and mobile content
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong social-first content creation and editing capabilities across multiple platforms
