Job description

SUMMARY
The Camp Victory On Call Event Staff are team members of the Camp Victory team for their programs throughout the year. Camp Victory is located in Mannford, Oklahoma. Camp Victory is a place where campers/attendees have the opportunity to pull out of their everyday lives, put away any distractions, and experience God's presence unencumbered. Staff members are responsible for assisting and participating in the following job duties: Supervision of campers/attedees, assisting with manning camp activities, provide a top-notch experience for campers and attendees and all other duties as assigned. A primary function at Camp Victory is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber of service and the love of Jesus. Members of the Camp Victory Event Staff could potentially qualify for positions within the Camp Victory Summer Staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists and operates activities for groups: Go Cars, Bumper Cars, Zip-Line, Horse Back Riding,
  • BB Guns, Archery, Canoes, Snack Shack, and lifeguard/swimming duties at the pool and Lake Victory lake inflatables. (need 4 certified lifeguards);
  • Assists in the care, cleanliness, and security of the facility used by campers or attendees during the program/events;
  • Monitors and helps to ensure the safety and welfare of children and protects all
  • campers/attendees by possessing and exhibiting proficiency and professionalism in all safety, health, and emergency policies of the program and ready to implement them when necessary; Treats all children, families, and staff members with respect and dignity, and allow for individual differences;
  • Maintains appropriate communication with staff, children, and families in a warm and professional manner;
  • Reports all accidents or unusual incidents to Camp Director and/or medical personnel; Participates in all required trainings and certifications in compliance with the organization's standards
  • Creates a nurturing, positive and professional environment while promoting program policies and procedures among staff, volunteers and community.
  • Must adhere to camp dress code and/or uniforms (provided).

  • Must be 18 years old or older

  • Ability to motivate children and maintain a positive atmosphere Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for all campers and families.

Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate behavior, expression of emotions, as well as role modeling.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • Physical exertion such as standing, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting and reaching; and walk a short to long distances on moderately to extreme steep terrain without difficulty. Lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child;
  • Manual dexterity with the use of hands, fingers to feel objects, tools, and controls;
  • Sighted with color, peripheral, near, and far vision;
  • Hearing and speaking;
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Majority of work time will be outdoors in extreme heat and occasionally indoor in a climatecontrolled building.
  • Willingness to work in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities; and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, bugs and animals that are natural to a forest setting.
