Job description

JOB SUMMARY The Temporary Victim Witness Assistant will work with Victim Witness staff in providing assistance and services to victims and the Carver County Attorney's Office staff. This is a temporary position and will not extend beyond seven (7) months of start date. Hours will vary, including day, evening and weekend hours.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Schedule and attend interviews upon the request of the attorney or victim witness staff. Utilize available computer systems to research case status. Document all contacts accurately using internal databases.

Escort victims to court appearances as requested. Complete correspondence to the victim. Participate in community outreach and education as sponsored by the Carver County Attorney's Office.

Other projects as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma/GED Complete and pass a background check, including fingerprinting and POR check Valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews).

Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, and background investigation, including CJIS fingerprinting and POR check.
