Job description

Job Title: Manager, Medical Relations
Division: L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty
Location: Remote (Field-Based)
Reports To: Vice President, Medical Relations
Who We Are:
For more than a century, L'Oréal has devoted its energy, innovation, and scientific excellence solely to one business: Beauty. Our goal is to offer each and every person around the world the best of beauty in terms of quality, efficacy, safety, sincerity and responsibility to satisfy all beauty needs and desires in their infinite diversity.
At L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty, our mission is to help everyone in their quest for healthy and beautiful skin. Our division is the world leader in dermo-cosmetics by adding health to beauty. Our brands portfolio includes CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Vichy, SkinCeuticals and Skinbetter Science offering a range of skincare and haircare products to respond to all expectations linked to beauty and health of the skin.
What You Will Do:
The Medical Relations Lead is a cornerstone of scientific communication for LDB, serving as the primary liaison to U.S. Healthcare Providers (HCPs). This role is dedicated to establishing the scientific authority of CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and Vichy, with a specialized focus on Pediatricians, Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Physician Assistants (PAs). You will translate complex clinical data into impactful educational strategies, drive investigator-initiated research, and foster high-level KOL relationships to advance the standard of care in over-the-counter (OTC) dermatology.
Core Responsibilities
  • Scientific Training & HCP Engagement: Act as the subject matter expert to upskill HCPs and internal stakeholders on brand science and clinical data. Deliver peer-to-peer training through in-person sessions, webinars (Webex), and digital platforms, highlighting therapeutic benefits across pathologies such as Atopy and Psoriasis.
  • KOL Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Secure "podium time" at medical congresses and manage the Regional Speaker Bureau to ensure consistent, evidence-based messaging.
  • Research & Innovation: Collaborate with KOLs to seed Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) for region-specific data (e.g., the impact of climate/pollution on skin). Identify scientific "white spaces" and opportunities for OTC innovation within pediatrics and dermatology.
  • Content Development: Create and execute the scientific launch toolkit, including posters, slide decks, journal articles, and video content, in collaboration with Marketing, R&I, and Scientific Affairs.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the internal medical resource for Marketing, Education, and Sales. Lead Patient Experience programs and synthesize competitor insights to inform broader organizational strategy.
  • Operations & Compliance: Ensure all field activities and financial spends are reported accurately and promptly in required software, adhering to all regulatory and L'Oréal compliance standards.

Key Duties & Resource Allocation
  1. Scientific Communication & Training (30%): Presenting clinical data to HCPs, academic institutions, and researchers; addressing unsolicited medical inquiries.
  2. KOL Management & Advocacy (25%): Developing and maintaining professional relationships with external experts and managing speaker bureaus.
  3. Medical Strategy & Content (15%): Developing strategic communications, posters, and scientific publications in collaboration with DMI and R&I.
  4. Scientific Congresses & Events (15%): Representing LDB brands at national/regional congresses, attending CME sessions, and managing advisory boards.
  5. Administrative & Compliance (15%): Tracking expenses, budget management, HCP spend reporting, and contract management.

What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Advanced Clinical or Science degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO, NP, or PA) required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years post-degree clinical practice or relevant transferable experience (clinical research, academic, or regulatory).
    • At least 1 year within a Medical Affairs organization, with a strong preference for Dermatology or Oncology.
    • Experience in Cellular Biology or Facial Aesthetics is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional presentation and public speaking abilities.
    • Proven ability to lead through influence across functional lines in a matrixed environment.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting clinical research data.
    • High level of urgency, attention to detail, and a "growth mindset."

Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Travel: Up to 40%-50% travel required (field visits, advisory boards, and scientific congresses).
  • Physical: Ability to lift and transport promotional/educational materials up to 25 pounds.

Why LDB? At L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty, our mission is to provide life-changing dermatological solutions to everyone, everywhere. Joining us means joining a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment backed by the resources of the world's #1 beauty company. We offer a competitive executive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that empowers you to take your career to the global stage.
What's In It For You:
Salary Range: $98,400 - $140,200 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
  • Competitive Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Pension Plan)
  • Flexible Time Off (Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vacation Buy Program, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!)
  • Access to Company Perks (VIP Access to L'Oréal's Internal Shop for Discounted Products, Monthly Mobile Allowance)
