Job description

Job Title: Retail Director 

Locations: Goodwill North Central Texas --- 4200 Airport Fwy, Fort Worth, Texas 

Salary:Depends on Experience 

Work Hours:FT (40 Hrs. per Week) Monday throughFriday  

General Job Duties:Directly responsible for the overall retail operations, talent development, and employee relations within their assigned territory. Ensures teams are trained, engaged, and equipped with the skills needed for success. Works closely with the Senior Retail Director and Vice President of DGR to create strategies and budget controls for the Goodwill retail stores. Responsible for working closely with the retail management team to ensure revenue, sales and production goals are achieved. Ensure production/merchandising, quality production, safety, and customer service standards are consistently met. Directly responsible for sales strategies and large scale budgets, while maintaining a revenue/expense ratio. 

Partners closely with executive leadership and facilities management to maintain a safe, customer-friendly, and operationally efficient retail locations, while adhering to policy and maintaining a system of record keeping. Ex) employee disciplinary documentation, complaints, investigation documentation, departmental reports, injury reporting, Loss Prevention matters etc.  

Ensures optimal recruiting, training, and retention of a high-performance team within their assigned territory in order to meet all Agency objectives under their purview.  Understands, models and trains direct reports (Store Managers) on agency policies, job responsibilities, employee relations, training requirements, and safety/loss prevention practices.   Responsible for supervision of Store managers which includes decision making and oversight of recruiting, timekeeping, scheduling, disciplinary measures of direct reports, and so on.  Ensure continuous management and oversight of store operations in the absence of the store manager or during times of limited staffing. Partners with VP of DGR and Human Resources when seeking approval for employee separations.  

Works closely with the Senior Director and Vice President of Retail Sales and Donated Goods to manage facilities and operational needs across multiple locations with proper maintenance, repair and renovations of store locations.  

Skills/Qualifications:At least seven (7) years’ experience in oversight of stores with various levels of operational complexity and  sales volumes, at least four (4) of those years to include supervisory responsibility is required. Adaptability, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment, strong math and communication with leadership skills demonstrated in previous employment. College degree in business administration/management or marketing highly desired. Ability to motivate staff to achieve department goals, including working with and guiding team members with disabilities and disadvantages. Ability to prepare and monitor large scale budgets. Able to operate POS systems, including cash registers and Bank Card Draft Capture Terminals and capable of training employees in the use of same. Must have knowledge of used goods processing and related operations. 

Physical Requirements:Strong communication skills and must be able to work with people with disabilities and the disadvantaged. Sufficiently mobile to lead and manage employees in all areas of the workplace and outlining stores— including the ability to travel to other locations, as requested. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to communicate effectively with associates and customers. You must provide own transportation for travel to various locations. This position requires the incumbent to have communication capabilities, via cell phone and/or Smartphone technology.
