Vice President, Technology

The Vice President, Technology is a senior technology executive responsible for leading software engineering and enterprise technology, delivering the platforms, systems, and capabilities that power Vetsource's operations and enable the company's next phase of growth. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader oversees the technology platforms supporting pharmacy operations, supply chain, finance, workplace technology, and enterprise operations while driving modernization, automation, and AI adoption across the business.

A key responsibility of this role is the evolution of Vetsource's proprietary fulfillment and operational technology platforms into a strategic competitive advantage. This includes defining and executing the next generation fulfillment architecture leveraging AI, robotics, intelligent workflow orchestration, and automation to create a scalable competitive advantage for Vetsource.

This executive partners closely with leaders across the business to shape the technology strategy and roadmap to advance our mission to deliver personalized care for pets while improving operational speed, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Beyond technology delivery, this leader will build high-performing teams, develop organizational capabilities, and drive transformation with a new operating model that accelerates innovation while maintaining operational excellence, security, and reliability.

This is a full-time, remote position. Preference is for candidates to reside within 2 hours of our operational hubs (Portland, OR; Harrisburg, PA; McDonough, GA; Northlake, TX).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Technology Transformation & Leadership

  • Lead the enterprise Technology operating model, serving as a strategic partner to align architecture and investments with business objectives.

  • Drive platform modernization and strategic technical debt reduction while managing capital investments, budgets, and risk.

  • Establish common operating practices, governance, SLAs, and performance metrics for mission-critical services.

Software & Platform Engineering

  • Lead the engineering organization responsible for Vetsource's proprietary fulfillment, pharmacy, and enterprise platforms.

  • Deliver secure, scalable, AI-enabled platforms that accelerate innovation and business growth.

  • Build a high-performing engineering culture grounded in modern practices, including cloud-native architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and API-first design.

Supply Chain & Fulfillment Technology

  • Lead the technology strategy and roadmap supporting pharmacy operations, warehouse technology, and replenishment planning.

  • Modernize and rearchitect proprietary fulfillment platforms for future scale, improving throughput, service levels, and cost efficiency.

  • Develop next-generation capabilities and workflows utilizing AI, robotics, and intelligent automation.

Finance Technology & Enterprise Platforms

  • Partner with Finance leadership to modernize operations through Oracle and enterprise platforms.

  • Ensure systems support speed, accuracy, scalability, and strong financial controls and compliance.

  • Provide technical leadership for Record-to-Report processes, enterprise integrations, and automation of financial reporting and reconciliation.

Associate Digital Experience

  • Lead workplace technology, identity management, and support functions, driving AI adoption to improve associate productivity and satisfaction.

Data, AI & Operational Intelligence

  • Lead cross-functional teams to improve data quality and accelerate AI adoption across supply chain, fulfillment, finance, and enterprise functions.

Reliability, Security & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure enterprise platforms are secure, reliable, and observable while driving a culture of service ownership and continuous improvement.

Leadership Expectations
  • Operate with urgency and accountability, taking ownership of outcomes over activities while driving organizational modernization.

  • Hire, develop, and retain high-performing technology professionals, providing actionable feedback and maintaining robust succession plans.

  • Build trusted partnerships across the business and foster a transparent, learning-oriented culture.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree

  • 15+ years leading large-scale tech organizations across software engineering, enterprise platforms, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and business transformation

  • 10+ years of experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, including 5+ years managing supply chain, finance, and EPM modules

  • Experience implementing modern API-driven technology platforms and enterprise applications (CRM, Digital Marketing, ecommerce, HCM, ERP, and custom development)

  • Experience incorporating AI and agentic platforms with workflow and process orchestration

  • Ability to create and execute a clear technology strategy, possessing exceptional business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, build consensus across all levels, and skillfully negotiate with internal customers and external vendors

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and retain a high-performing team rooted in transparency and accountability

  • A trusted, highly ethical team player who favors collaborative approaches with internal and external partners

  • A high-energy, low-ego executive who is comfortable with ambiguity, handles the unexpected with flexibility, and is passionate about reaching the goal

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services, alongside managing as-a-service, outsourced, and cloud-based solutions.

  • Proven ability to build strong vendor partnerships that ensure optimal performance and financial return

  • Demonstrated success driving digital and business transformation through technology innovation, coupled with strong change management skills for leading complex initiatives

  • Highly customer-service oriented with an entrepreneurial approach, demonstrating the ability and interest to pursue new business opportunities

Pay range (US based applicants): $218,592 - $275,000 (annualized) + annual bonus plan eligible
