TITLE: Vice President, Software Engineering - Agentic AI and Data Engineering Platform

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Vice President, Software Engineering - Agentic AI and Data Engineering Platform is a senior technology executive responsible for defining and executing the engineering strategy for Duck Creek Technologies' core SaaS platform, data platform, and next-generation AI-powered agentic products.

Thisrolewilllead aglobally distributed software engineering organization responsible for designing, building, and operatingsoftwareplatforms and customer-facing products that deliver enterprise-grade scalability, reliability, security, and performance. A key responsibilityforthe role is accelerating the adoption of Agentic AI and Generative AI capabilities across the Duck Creek product portfolio through robust, production-ready engineering practices.

The ideal candidate combines deepexpertisein software engineering leadership with hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled platforms and applications at scale. They have built and operated enterprise-grade systems thatleveragelarge language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent workflow orchestration, and AI-powered automation whilemaintaininghigh standardsfor governance, security, observability,reliability,and operational excellence.

Engineering Leadership & Product Delivery

  • Lead globally distributed software engineering organizations responsible for delivering Duck Creek's Agentic AI Platform, Data Engineering Platform, AI-enabled product capabilities, and core SaaSofferings.

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale, cloud-native software systems, including architecture, development, deployment, operations, reliability, and lifecycle management.

  • Drive best-in-class engineering practices acrossarchitecturedesign,software development, CI/CD, observability, automation, resiliency, and operational readiness

  • Build, develop, and scale a high-performing engineering organization by recruiting exceptional talent, mentoring engineering leaders, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Platform Engineering & Architecture

  • Define and execute the technical strategy for Duck Creek's next-generation SaaS,dataand AI platforms

  • Oversee the design and evolution of modern, distributed system architectures supportingprivate single-tenant andmulti-tenant SaaS platforms

  • Lead the development of shared platform services, APIs, data infrastructure, agent orchestration frameworks, and reusable engineering capabilities that accelerate product innovation

  • Ensure platform scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency at global scale

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partnercloselywith Product, Cloud, Security, and Enterprise Architecture leaders toalign technology strategy, platform investments, and engineering execution with company objectives

  • Translate emerging technologies, including AI and GenAI, into tangibleplatform capabilities and differentiated customer experiences

WHAT YOU'VE DONE:

Core Requirements (Must-Have)

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, includingsignificant experiencebuilding and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud-native applications, and AI-enabled products.

  • 7+ years leading large, globally distributed engineering organizations at the VP, Senior Director, or equivalent level, including managing managers and senior engineering leaders.

  • Proventrack recordof delivering complex, production-grade software platforms and customer-facing applications at enterprise scale.

  • Strong technical foundation with prior hands-on experience in software development, system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering

AI + Engineering Experience

  • Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning, and Generative AI capabilities within production software systems serving enterprise or commercial customers

  • Experience building or leading AI platform capabilities, including model orchestration, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, AI observability, analytics, and operational governance

  • Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, including LLM-based applications, intelligent agents, vector-based retrieval systems, model lifecycle management, and human-in-the-loop evaluation processes

  • Experience with operational practices in AI systems, including model evaluation, security, compliance, risk management, reliability, and performance monitoring

Platform & SaaS Expertise

  • Deep experience designing and operating cloud-native, distributed systems supporting large-scale SaaS products and multi-tenant platforms

  • Proven success leading both application engineering and platform engineering organizations, including shared services, APIs, developer platforms, data infrastructure, and cloud operations

  • Experience driving modernization of legacy systems into scalable,secure,cloud-based platforms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading engineering organizations withinAI platformcompanieswithdeep exposure to regulatedindustriesespeciallyInsurTech/FinTech or equivalent.

  • Proven success building and scaling AI-enabled capabilities within enterprise SaaS products serving large commercial customers

  • Experience developing and operating AI platforms that support LLM-based applications, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and/or intelligent automation

  • Familiarity withMLOps, AI lifecycle management, model evaluation, AI observability, and responsible AI practices in production environments

  • Experienceestablishinggovernance frameworks for AI systems, including security, compliance, risk management, and regulatory considerations

  • Experience leading data engineering platforms via best practicemedallion architectures

Actual compensation for this role is determined based on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location, where permitted by law.

For reference, the expected salary range for this position is generally positioned as follows based on candidate location:

  • 241,200 - 344,500: Candidates living in the Boston, New York City-Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC metropolitan areas
  • 229,800 - 328,300: Candidates living in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas, or in Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, or Vermont
  • 218,400 - 312,000: Candidates living in Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Oregon, or Wisconsin
  • 193,400 - 302,300: For all other U.S. locations

This position is also eligible for annual bonus compensation, subject to plan terms and individual eligibility.

Final compensation will be determined based on the factors outlined above and in accordance with applicable law.
