Job description

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a talented, and highly motivated senior leader to lead operational excellence and continuous improvement across its global aerospace manufacturing and aftermarket operations. The Vice President, Global Operating System will partner closely with business unit leaders, site operations leadership, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to develop and implement standardized processes, performance management systems, and continuous improvement strategies that enhance safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability across the enterprise. This leader will drive operational rigor and consistency while building scalable systems and capabilities that support long-term growth and customer performance requirements across Barnes Aerospace’s global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a global operational excellence reporting cadence focused on key manufacturing, quality, delivery, productivity, and customer performance KPIs across Barnes Aerospace’s OEM and MRO operations;
  • Lead the deployment of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement capabilities across manufacturing and aftermarket sites in North America, Europe, and Asia, driving high-impact operational improvement initiatives throughout the global organization;
  • Partner with regional operations, supply chain, and business leaders to standardize and strengthen SIOP and operational planning processes to improve service levels, throughput, inventory optimization, and manufacturing execution;
  • Establish, document, and drive adoption of standardized global operating procedures, manufacturing disciplines, and operational best practices to ensure consistent execution, regulatory compliance, customer quality performance, and operational scalability across all Barnes Aerospace facilities;
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, manufacturing constraints, and process inefficiencies across the global network and implement corrective actions that leverage the full capability and capacity of the organization’s manufacturing footprint;
  • Facilitate cross-site collaboration and best practice sharing across manufacturing and MRO operations to accelerate continuous improvement, operational consistency, and performance benchmarking globally;
  • Review and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational and quality performance data to identify trends, performance gaps, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement across the enterprise;
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of site-level manufacturing capabilities, process competencies, and capacity utilization to support network optimization, strategic investment planning, and operational flexibility;
  • Drive the development and implementation of global quality, process control, and operational performance standards aligned with aerospace OEM, aftermarket, regulatory, and customer requirements;
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute long-range manufacturing and supply chain strategies, including operational footprint optimization, capacity planning, capital investment prioritization, product flow optimization, and inventory management initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 10-12+ years of demonstrated experience implementing Lean manufacturing systems, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement disciplines while driving operational transformation and change management initiatives across complex global aerospace manufacturing and/or MRO environments through influence, collaboration, and operational leadership;
  • Experience partnering with site operations leadership to standardize and institutionalize scalable operating processes, performance management systems, and operational excellence frameworks across a global organization;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated track record of delivering sustainable operational improvements through disciplined execution and accountability;
  • Experience working within highly regulated manufacturing environments with strong knowledge of quality systems, compliance requirements, and operational rigor associated with aerospace manufacturing and aftermarket operations;
  • Experience operating within and advancing best-in-class aerospace operating systems and continuous improvement frameworks;
  • Ability to operate effectively within a highly collaborative, matrixed global organization; lead through influence, credibility, and strong operational expertise;
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated success building, deploying, and sustaining robust operational processes, management systems, and continuous improvement cultures within complex industrial organizations;
  • Executive presence, able to interact with and drive senior leaders to set and implement clear improvement priorities and initiatives, as well as drive and motivate line leaders and associates to make necessary changes.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred. Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
