Job Summary and Qualifications

Under general supervision, the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.  In collaboration with patient, patientโ€™s family, and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of non-licensed nursing staff. The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Departmentโ€™s policies, procedures and standards of practice. 

RNโ€™s are responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (infant, adolescent, and adult patients), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population.  In addition to the RN duties and responsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties.  The charge nurse makes patient assignments, and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift. 

What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 

    • If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. 

    • Couplet Care experience Required

      • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license 

      • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider card. 

      • NRP required within 90 days of hire or transfer.  


      • STABLE required within 60 days of hire of transfer.
