Who we are looking for: 

Dragons Academy is looking for an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, technology  professional to join our growing team as President of Dragon Academy. The ideal candidate will possess the experience of a technology executive with the agility, urgency and intensity to drive success, and also a familiarity with the educational and academic market to manage the delivery and execution of a new leading-edge k-12 private school, with an emphasis on technology and leadership.  As a key executive, this individual will be an integral member of a growing team of hard-working and experienced professionals. The candidate will work closely with the Founder and CEO and other key leaders.  The ideal candidate will have been a former senior executive in the technology innovation Education industry, with a strong sales and marketing and revenue background. You will need to be able to look at the big picture with an entrepreneurial mindset, as well as have high energy and high-performance track record.   

What you will be working on: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement long-term strategies for growth, market expansion, and product innovation to maintain a competitive edge in fast-evolving EdTech landscape. 

  • Operational Leadership: Manage overall company operations, including budgeting, financial management, and performance metrics, with a strong bias towards execution, accountability and results. 

  • Financial Oversight: Directing budgets, approving expenditures, and ensuring financial stability while making timely, date-driven decisions. 

  • Product and Market Development: Oversee the development of educational technology tools, aligning them with user needs, market trends and emerging technologies. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary face of the organization to investors, partners, and customers, cultivating a customer-centric culture. 

  • Team Leadership: Build and guide high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement. 

  • Urgency and Intensity: Lead with a strong sense of urgency and intensity, driving rapid decision-marking, prioritization, and execution to meet ambitious goals and timelines in a high-growth environment. 

  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrate agility and adaptability in responding to changing market conditions, evolving learner needs, and organizational priorities, while effectively managing ambiguity and change.

About You: 

We are looking for an individual with a strong operational operating background who has experience dealing with venture capital and/or private equity and its expectations.    

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or technology required. 

  • Experience with the educational or academic market ideally with an intersection of technology preferred..MBA preferred. 

  • Prior experience in sales and/or leadership efforts in a startup company managing a high growth environment with strong financial discipline.   

  • Experience as a senior leader in a role such as CEO, CRO, COO, preferably within the EdTech or e-learning sector. 

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work strategically, but also hands-on problem solving. 

  • Experience working with venture capital or private equity. 

  • Track record of building innovative, creative, and collaborative teams.  

  • Strong desire to lead from a strategic and tactical perspective in all aspects of day-to-day company operations.
