Manager Revenue Cycle - Financial Clearance

Job Summary:

Manager, Revenue Cycle Financial Clearance reports directly to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, Front-End Operations. This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Patient Assistance Center Financial Clearance team, ensuring efficient access operations, consistent service delivery, staff readiness, and alignment with organizational revenue cycle goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on key metrics, including but not limited to secure rates, days out, authorization initiate to complete, secured rates, no authorization denial trends, call center metrics, and department productivity. Proactively perform root cause analyses and develop action plans when metrics do not meet internal goals or industry best practices. Complete monthly trending analyses and presents to senior leadership.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics, including but not limited to secure rates, days out, authorization initiate to complete, secured rates, no authorization denial trends, call center metrics, and department productivity. Proactively perform root cause analyses and develop action plans when metrics do not meet internal goals or industry best practices. Complete monthly trending analyses and presents to senior leadership
  • Develop and monitor adherence to specific goals, performance standards, and policies & procedures for each area of responsibility. Define, implement, and manage clear quality and productivity standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Stay abreast of third-party payers and government guidelines as well as company policies and procedures to ensure compliance related to all areas of responsibility. Proactively implement operational changes and provide timely staff education to maintain adherence. Collaborate with legal and compliance departments on matters that impact access services.
  • Maintain deep understanding of key processes within both Financial Clearance and Pre-registration.
  • Maintain detailed understanding of dashboard management, including system functionality, workflows, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with physician and hospital leadership to streamline processes that impact the authorization and referral or financial clearance of an account. Regularly round and seek feedback from stakeholders impacted by Financial Clearance Department.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement. Actively participate with direct reports on employee engagement and in succession planning and developing career advancement.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced writing and presentation skills for communicating across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Project and time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines through prioritization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to build professional relationships across all levels of leadership.

Work Experience, Education and, Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and strong, directly relevant work history may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in revenue cycle, eligibility, financial clearance, patient assistance, or a related healthcare function preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • No more than 25%.
