This position reports to our Chief Safety & Infrastructure Officer and may be based at any major QTS location, including Irving, TX; Duluth, GA; Suwanee, GA; Atlanta, GA; Richmond, VA; Ashburn, VA; Overland Park, KS or Houston, TX

The Impact You Will Have:

As Vice President, Quality you will develop and lead the integration of our quality programs across the company including equipment and construction projects. This includes setting standards and quality processes while leading a team to administer these programs globally. You will oversee quality standards and the commissioning of first-of-kind equipment and construction practices to ensure our projects are delivered on time and meet our standards globally.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the strategic expansion of quality programs, including both equipment and construction aspects, to enhance project reliability and efficiency from initiation to startup.

  • Collaborate with QTS Engineering & Operations to strategize and implement high-level changes that align equipment and construction practices with our operational and safety standards.

  • Ensure compliance with the basis of design specifications across all construction and equipment manufacturing activities, acting as the executive point of contact for all design-related compliance issues.

  • Address and resolve quality issues identified by performance metrics, and direct continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

  • Manage the strategic approach to vendor inspection and first-of-kind commissioning processes to ensure collaboration and compliance with QTS's stringent quality standards.

  • Establish and maintain standards and processes that enhance project execution and foster effective communication across departments.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team to uphold the highest standards of quality, focusing on developing leadership within the team for managing day-to-day operations and vendor interactions.

  • Develop and oversee training programs for both internal team members and external vendors to ensure alignment with QTS's strategic quality objectives.

  • Conduct regular reviews of quality practices at manufacturing sites and on job sites to ensure adherence to QTS standards.

  • Audit design documents and quality records strategically, ensuring all documentation supports QTS's modular construction and equipment manufacturing strategies.

  • Oversee the completeness and accuracy of all project documentation before project handover, ensuring all phases meet strategic objectives and compliance standards.

  • Supervise testing and commissioning activities to ensure they align with QTS's high standards and strategic goals, maintaining quality and reliability of our data center projects globally.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or a similar related field.
  • Ten or more years of experience in QA/QC, commissioning, or equipment manufacturing or engineering role specifically around MEP equipment. Data Center Experience is a plus, but deep equipment knowledge is a primary.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a quality organization in a large matrix organization
  • Strong knowledge of equipment manufacturing process and systems.
  • Skilled at managing relationships with manufacturers, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Knowledgeable in critical systems like power and cooling in data centers.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing project needs.

Nice To Have:

  • Excellent at managing people and scheduling work.
  • Familiar with QA/QC management software like CX Alloy, ProCore or ACC Build.
  • Project management certification (PMP) is a plus.

Travel Requirement:

  • Expect to travel 50-70% domestically, depending on project needs.
