Introduction

Akamai’s Cloud Technology Group is seeking a Vice President, Product Management, IaaS to define and execute the cloud market strategy, partnering across engineering, GTM, and executive teams to build competitive cloud products and lead cross‑functional teams. The role requires deep infrastructure and cloud platform expertise to engage customers in technical architecture reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Owning product vision and multi‑year strategy for the IaaS portfolio, aligning to broader cloud growth objectives.
  • Building and leading a high‑performing team of product leaders, driving accountability, execution discipline, and a culture of customer obsession.
  • Leading cross‑functional execution across product, engineering, and SRE, ensuring alignment and delivery against roadmap priorities.
  • Partnering with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to bring products from concept to launch and scale adoption.
  • Leveraging deep market, customer, and industry insights to identify differentiation opportunities and shape product positioning.
  • Owning business outcomes across the portfolio, including revenue growth, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with go‑to‑market leadership on pricing, packaging, and segment strategy, and representing Akamai externally with customers, partners, and analysts.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of product management experience in cloud, compute, or infrastructure domains; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Track record of building and scaling product management organizations, including hiring, mentoring, and establishing effective operating rhythms.
  • Experience defining and executing product strategy at a senior level, including vision setting, stakeholder alignment, and cross‑functional execution.
  • Deep fluency in cloud computing concepts (compute, virtualization, containerization, storage, networking, managed services).
  • Successful history of launching and scaling products, articulating outcomes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder alignment through clear communication, collaboration, and influential leadership.
  • Ability to lead through influence across engineering, SRE, and operations, aligning stakeholders around a shared product vision.
  • Understanding of developer and enterprise audiences, distinct needs, and buying motions.
  • Executive presence and excellent communication skills, representing the company with customers, partners, and analysts.
Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $228,600 - $411,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry‑leading benefits including healthcare, 401(k) savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family‑friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program.
