Job description

Vice President, PMO

Rapid7 is seeking a VP, PMO to lead the strategic alignment, program orchestration, and delivery velocity of our global product portfolio. This leader will embed high-efficiency agile operating models directly within our engineering squads, transforming our program management office into a technical execution engine. This role focuses on optimizing technical roadmap delivery, managing engineering capacity allocation, and accelerating the time-to-market for our enterprise cybersecurity solutions.

About the Team

The Program Management Office builds the scalable operational frameworks, portfolio tracking models, and cross-functional delivery infrastructure that guarantee the execution of Rapid7's global strategic initiatives. This team drives measurable business impact by prioritizing high-value investments, optimizing resource dependencies, and ensuring reliable operational outcomes across the entire organization.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer, the VP, PMO, you will lead the engineering delivery lifecycle, product portfolio governance, and cross-functional execution alignment for our global product organization.

Specifically, your focus will be to:

  • Design the technical program management strategy to accelerate the software release lifecycle across multiple cloud-native product lines.

  • Be the single source of truth for delivery timelines for the R&D organization

  • Lead a strategic team of technical program managers, scrum masters, and/or equivalent delivery roles, embedding them as strategic partners across engineering squads to drive execution and alignment.

  • Synchronize product roadmaps with engineering architecture dependencies to maximize developer throughput and minimize delivery blockages.

  • Oversee the capacity planning, technical metric analysis, and cross-team development velocity dashboards for the engineering leadership team.

  • Establish data-driven framework metrics focused on code-to-production speed, development cycle predictability, and product roadmap milestone adherence.

  • Mitigate product development operational risks by introducing proactive early-warning mechanisms for engineering bottlenecks and architectural blockers.

  • Lead cross-functional alignment initiatives across product boundaries to establish unified agile cadences, shared engineering release criteria, and seamless delivery pipelines.

The skills and qualities you'll bring include

  • Demonstrated mastery in steering complex technical program portfolios, software delivery operations, or engineering-focused PMO structures within enterprise SaaS ecosystems.

  • Deep expertise implementing scalable product delivery lifecycles, developer capacity optimization models, and agile engineering analytics infrastructure.

  • Ability to translate complex product visions into structured, time-bound technical sprints, turning high-level strategies into actionable engineering milestones.

  • Absolute commitment to establishing clear development ownership parameters, joint team milestones, and transparent software release expectations.

  • Openness to driving engineering operational change, keeping developers and product partners aligned to forward-looking delivery commitments.

  • Talent for making rapid, technical trade-off decisions that maintain code-shipping momentum while evaluating diverse product and architectural inputs.

  • Communication style that distills deep technical program roadmaps and resource constraints into clear, motivating business rationale for cross-functional partners.

  • Experience cultivating a global engineering and product management network across corporate lines to deliver integrated, scalable platform updates.

  • High self-awareness to evaluate technical squad health, adjusting leadership and process styles dynamically to resolve architectural or team friction.

  • Embody our core values to foster a culture of excellence that drives meaningful impact and collective success.

We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams. That's because these teams reflect a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences. If you are excited about this role and feel your experience can make an impact, please don't be shy - apply today.
