About the role.

The VP, Product Development role will be responsible for driving strategic product innovation, development, and management across the portfolio of property products offered to members. This critical leadership role will focus on creating and maintaining a dynamic product suite that meets evolving member needs, drives sustainable growth and ensures continued market relevance.

What you'll do.


Responsible for comprehensive product development for all assigned lines of business including, but not limited to:

  • Ideation, prioritization,designand successful launch of neworenhancedproducts,leveragingdeepand broadexpertiseof the insurance business and productknowledgetoinfluence decisions and shapethelong-term product vision across the organization

  • Leadscross-functional teamsin understanding the link between PURE's vision and strategies and department initiatives through a productdevelopment lens to ensure progress towards company objectives.

  • Consistent iteration of long-term product roadmaps for assigned lines of business, withan appropriate cadenceof updates to pricing, contract,selectionand all other product features

  • Identification,exploration,negotiation,and nurturing of new and existing strategic partnerships to offer a more robust suite of products

  • Steerinternal and external research for emerging trends, member needs and competitor offerings to inform product innovation

  • Lead the cross-functional collaboration with Underwriting, Claims, Marketing,Salesand all other stakeholders tosuccessfully and efficientlydesign and developenhancements to the product suite

  • Partner closely with Technology to effectively program and delivernew product builds, features and toolsas designed witha high levelof quality

  • Create delightfuland compellingmember and broker experiences for any touchpoint with a given product, and cultivate a process to continuously improve this experience

  • Identify, explore, and pursue external data sources that could provide value to our products

  • Lead collaboration with the Actuarial Pricing,Data & Analytics, and State Product Managementdepartments to develop different models using both internal and external data to support product pricing and risk selection decisions

  • Lead a team within the Product Development organization, managing the diverse skillsets necessary for product development while fueling the individual growth and development of each team member

  • Championsorganizationaltransformationand talent development

  • Act as asubject matter experton committees/external panels/forums/rate hearings

What we're looking for.

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Property & Casualty insurance, including significant portfolio, product, or actuarial leadership responsibility, withdemonstratedincreased responsibilities over time.

  • High net worth personal lines insurance experience preferred, but notrequired

  • Proven ability to translate strategy into measurable performance outcomes

  • Exceptional analytical capability and executive judgment

  • Ability to influence and align senior leaders across functions

  • Highest level of integrity and accountability

  • Proven experience leading teams and important initiatives through a consultative leadership style and growth mindset

  • Deep knowledge of the P&C insurance industry, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability; comprehensive understanding of legislative and insurance regulation

The base salary for this role can range from $195,000 to $220,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
